1966 Case 930 CK timing marks

I cant get any real sort of information on this for some reason, im guessing theres a mention of it in the owners manual but a straw bale swallowed my wallet so I cant go buying a owners manual at the moment. All I can find online was the engine had to be set to 31 degrees btdc to install the injection pump and that the marks should be on the crank pulley, only problem is there is 2 sets of 2 marks on it. First set are slightly more separated than the second set with is i dont know 3-4 inches that separates the sets of marks, can't find no meaning on them at all. Probably should've mentioned I'm trying to get the injection pump installed. Any help is appreciated

Have you cleaned the crank pulley up so you can read the numbers?? If you can see the numbers align them with the pointer and see if the marks align with each other in the pump timing port ahead of the pump mount.
I think casecollectorsc is telling you the facts. You should see numbers marked off in degrees that is the correct timing location. Also sounds like the vibration dampener are prone to fail and the outer ring with the stamped numbers can rotate out of position which is a common problem with many engines. Here is a link to an older YT thread on that.

I only cleaned the top ring of the pulley because well thats where the pointer is pointing but there are no numbers just the 2 sets of marks

It's a tough area to see, use a small brush to clean and a flash light to focus on the marks. Take a pencil or thin chalk and highlight them so it's easier to reference them.
if you're talking about the pulley marks then for me its a great area to see if because i've got the whole nose cone and radiator off

i havent seen any degree markings on the pulley though and ive cleaned it off thats why im just kind of confused. I'll be going back over tomorrow to work on the tractor again and see what i can come up with

I am no expert on those models, maybe @jon f mn would chime in here I think he knows those tractors pretty good. I wonder if early models possibly had marks on the flywheel, that’s only a guess on my part. I don’t know how much clearance there is around the pulley, sometimes things can get dropped or shoved in there and rub on the outside of the pulley and were the numbers off. If your double notches mean something I am surprised that someone hasn’t answered about that. Maybe you need to have this thread moved to the Case forum, you could do that by the “Contact Us” button in red below.

I'll take some pictures and what not today to show you what im seeing, im probably just missing something obvious im not sure. Im hoping the timing marks are on the flywheel but im not certain they are because i already have the starter out and from what i remember i didnt see any marks but i wasn't really looking for marks and im sure that's not at all where you'd time it at. But like i said ill see what i come up with today

No flywheel marking.

No flywheel marking.
Yeah thats the first thing I looked for and i couldnt even find a access port for it so i knew it wasnt on the flywheel then. But i cleaned up even more of the pulley with a good amount of elbow grease and i found what im assuming are the marks, if i can send all the pictures at once then the pictures should be in order from first to last when they show up on the pointer. I cant make out what some of the markings are like in the middle it looks like it just says 200, the first marking almost looks like a 39 or something?? And the last is almost invisible it could just be my eyes but it looks like it might say 5 or 3? Like i said genuinely no clue I dont know much if anything about these timing marks, and I counted the vertical marks and there was either 26 or 27 its pretty hard to tell. And the last two were the marks i had originally found

Yeah the marks are so worn down on this one its so hard to see anything. And yeah i really wish i wouldve done that when i took it off, I just wasn't thinking about that at all because it was -10 the whole time i was tearing off the nose cone and radiator so i was just so focused on getting back home into the heat i just wanted to get it tore apart. Lesson learned for sure

Sorry, I was gonna get pics. Your first pic looks like 35 at the end of the marks....talking to smalls.
It's all good, but yeah it looks more like a 35 now thank you. Also I was talking to my buddy and he said one of the guys he knows that knows a bit about the case 930's says to set it 4 degrees after tdc which doesnt make much sense to me why you would inject the fuel after tdc?
