Remote Valve Testing for 30 and 70 Series

Nice. Thats the way to do it. Sure beats pulling the valve back off because of an assembly error with the relief o-rings. Been there. Should be able to check the thermals are holding as well? Feed the hand pump in to the outlet ports and tee in the guage or watch for leakage?

    1170 REFURBISH UPDATE

You are doing all the tough jobs...Youre lucky - your dash comes out further than I have ever got a 70 series dash pulled out. I only seem to get about an inch.... Those seats are painful. I admire your picker! Nice job. I have taken them out the door and back window but that was back when I...

    1175

Yep, went past Rend Lake on vacation a couple years ago. Nice area. Just noticed the weights on the front of Ron's tractor in the first picture. Seems to be quite a setup. That's the thing with those 70 series....drop a plow in to a red clay hillside and the front end goes straight in the air...

    Splitting stand

Yours looks just about like the one I made except I have a cross member that the oil pan sits on - I realize you cannot do that with the pan you have so I'm not much help. Aren't a whole lot of options there for holes are there?

    1175

Just south of Moline .... not sure about Ron, I suspect he is further south than I. Recently revived a dead 970 and took the cab off (it had no air), and been enjoying using that more than the cabbed tractors lately. I do need to invest in a better muffler, though, and a curved outlet pipe. That...

    1175

We are roughly in the same area .... you had my attention until the "no factory air"! I like my old 1175 too. My 2090 even more. Glad to see you giving her some love!

    Working on my back

Yes! Not sure what kind of sick you mean, but with me it is confined spaces. Never bothered me until 40 years old or so. Been in some horrid pits and shafts at work years ago but now I can’t do it at 48. Would absolutely go ape $h1+ today. My bathroom vent was dripping water. That night I woke...

    1370 Powershift

Hopefully some of the powershift experts chime in on this. I’ve went through one but am no expert. My 2 cents is yes the grooves do need faced off somehow. I think they will eat your new discs. As far as if there is enough “meat” to do this..... unless you take off so much that the...

    Oil Filters--OEM or something else?

Wix! I’ve tried to get my brother to use them on his Deere’s, but he won’t do it. Says white oil filters wouldn’t look right on a Deere. I do enjoy pointing out the black OEM Deere filters say “Made in Mexico” but the white Wix say “Made in the USA”

    Rusty but works thread

Old Gehl 1090 still mowing every year. It’s “the backup” but mowed more hay this year than the main mower.

    1175 brakes

CNH had the kit as of about three years ago. Mine was a cabless machine and easy to take off the valve. to rebuild. I’m told and do believe they are a nightmare to remove on a cabbed tractor. I have been contemplating rebuilding the one on my 1175 but am going to replace discs first to see...

    Tight filter canister

What everyone else said...... two weeks after battling a very stuck one I had it blew apart. Machine had been sitting busted 20 years so it was a bit tight. With good luck you will have the bypass valve in the bottom of your filter like Fred Said . They don’t need to be wailed on either when...

    1030 top link mounts

I have always wondered the same. 930s have the upper too. I do know things can go very wrong if the upper one is accidentally used with a rotary mower. I think the mower blade tried to kill my drawbar... or something like that. Been awhile.
