I'll pull the pump this weekend and check it out. I just bought this tractor a couple months ago so I haven't got to drive it more than up and down the driveway a couple times. It had bad gas and needed a carb kit. Then I added electronic ignition-- so its running pretty good now. I...- 67stepside

Thanks. I have the late model hydraulic pump. Would you replace more than the bottom seal? It appears like the pump has never been removed. I guess I could replace the seal first then check the pressure after? The power steering did not work when I bought it so I'm guessing it was out of fluid.- 67stepside

I don't have the tractor split yet. The pin came out with the lever and the splined shaft below. The previous owner made a bracket that prevented the pin and the spline shaft from coming out, and once I removed it everything slid out. I'm glad you told me its a dry compartment. That explains...- 67stepside

Hello, Im working on a 1964 JD 1010rs. It has a severe leak on the left side where the PTO engagement lever shaft enters the case. Not a real big issues getting it fixed, its just a seal. 435 axle removal
Thanks for the info. I decided today to leave the gear on the axle and clean it up and install new bearings. I wanted to Use the original axle but the one that came with this housing is good enough.- 67stepside

435 axle removal
I"m trying to remove the final drive gear in the Axle housing on a JD 435. I was able to cut off the bearing race but the gear is stuck on the splines. There are two threaded holes in the gear but I don"t really want to drill through the housing to get to them. But that would be the only...- 67stepside
