Mitsubishi L3E IP (similar to Kubota) Governor Won't Idle Properly.

Just got it all back together and pump primed. All back to normal now. Except, I lost the little spring that locks the tie rod to the IP rack. I just stuck an e clip on it but I worry that vibration may knock it loose. Any clues where to get one of those?

Mitsubishi L3E IP (similar to Kubota) Governor Won't Idle Properly.

I pulled the governor cover and pump and it looks like the tie rod to the rack is bent. Also the spring called start spring doesn't have enough preload to move the governor lever at all much less to give more fuel to the rack. So I think this is the source of the problems.

Mitsubishi L3E IP (similar to Kubota) Governor Won't Idle Properly.

Any tips would be appreciated! Here's the problem: -Must hold the rack half open for the engine to start. -Engine runs great at wide open, but it's hard to turn the throttle down without killing. The governor hunts and often kills if I turn the lever down too quickly. All was well before an...

Mitsubishi GEARED engine Jumped Time. How???

A mouse chewed a hole in the air cleaner and it ran unknown hours sucking in dirt. Ring gaps became huge, bores wore close to out of spec. Compression dropped to 200psi and below leading to a hard starting and now non running engine. So it's time for a rebuild unfortunately. Only 1200 hours on...

Mitsubishi GEARED engine Jumped Time. How???

Someone on another forum mentioned that those marks are only to time the engine initially and do not line up every revolution. This turned out to be the case, after enough revolutions, all the timing marks line up as they're supposed to. It takes a certain number of times around to get back to...

Mitsubishi GEARED engine Jumped Time. How???

None of the timing marks (cam and IP) line up. How could this happen on a geared engine?

Toro 223D with Mitsubishi L3E engine Low Compression. Where to find new pistons?

Maybe so in some cases. I also work on chainsaws (my own) and ordered a Chinese cylinder and piston kit. There was absolutely no comparison between the $60 kit and the original Sweden Husqvarna professional (XP) quality. I didn't do any cutaways on the parts to find voids and air pockets in the...

Toro 223D with Mitsubishi L3E engine Low Compression. Where to find new pistons?

Thanks! This engine doesn't have liners in it now so I figured I'd just go 0.25mm oversize (recommended in the manual). I was hoping to find a kit with that in mind. Are those kits Japan made?

Toro 223D with Mitsubishi L3E engine Low Compression. Where to find new pistons?

I had a mouse chew a hole in the air filter and now am low enough in compression that the machine will not start. 150, 250, 300 psi in no particular order. So it's time for a rebore and new pistons. Everything on ebay is China. I feel the machine deserves good pistons and I'd hate to have one...

    Getting stuck... 8N Traction questions.

Yes... like trying to walk in one of those pool of plastic balls that they used to do for young kids. I didn't [i:f5c779eccd]intend[/i:f5c779eccd] to have 6" thick of 2" gravel. The dump truck company ended up getting stuck and unfortunately didn't do a good job dumping it. Hence the need to...

Load/lift arms drop 30 seconds after shutdown. Problem?

You talked me out of it! Ended up getting an old Yanmar Diesel needing some work for the same price (actually $100 less). I got to thinking about it... being a first tractor, I'd like a ROPS, and if I'm going to have to work on it anyways, might as well get something closer to an ideal...

    Getting stuck... 8N Traction questions.

Also, to qualify... usual tractor (not turf) tires on the 8N. And lets make it a little more of a fair fight... turf tires on a 4WD tractor.

    Getting stuck... 8N Traction questions.

How well do these things do in less than ideal conditions. Say the following scenario: -driving up a slight incline (say a 12 degree hill) -2" limestone gravel freshly spread - 6" thick. My 2wd vehicles [i:09ec67bfa6]will[/i:09ec67bfa6] get stuck in this. Would the 8n do better...

Load/lift arms drop 30 seconds after shutdown. Problem?

Any tractor will be better than none at this point. I have about $1500 to spend and need to move some dirt and gravel. I would think the 8N would be about as good as any of the others for this. Don't need a Live PTO. I'm sure for the future that would be nice. I have a scraper that I just bought...

Load/lift arms drop 30 seconds after shutdown. Problem?

I appreciate your advice. Can you find one of those for around $1000 like you can the Ns? Not knowing a ton about Ford tractors, in what ways will one of the later units you mentioned be much better?
