    Case 500

Hi, I think they are a terrific tractor. My understanding is that the export tractors got inline American Bosch (APE)pumps on them. (I've seen some with rotary pumps.) I think most inline pumps are susceptable to the racks sticking from sitting around, so hence people have moments when starting...

    la case mag

Hi, I"d try to clean the points first and see whether that helps. I have an LA and some times they get a bit of greasy dirt on them after sitting around. I pull a small strip of cardboard through a few times to remove the grease. Then a piece of wet/dry paper 400 grit a few times either side...

    Oil for LA engine?

Hi Bob, We've bought a few drums 30 mongrade oil from Gulf Western. There is also a new company, Atlantic Oil, in Ingleburn NSW that also stock 30 grade. I bought some from them at a field day recently to put in a Case 500. Regards Andrew

Anything remove / dissolve Permatex gasket sealer?

Hi, I use "methylated spirits" (ethanol), that's what we call it here. I use it to thin it down in the bottle and make it last longer and easier to use. Regards Andrew

    Thoughts From the County Fair

Yes it"s disappointing that some people don"t show respect, criticize and look down on others points of view. I"m glad you didn"t let it spoil your day....good story. recently I"ve got..."they"re the wrong wheels!" or "when are you going to restore it?" or....thankfully the good people out...

    Favorite Tractor?

Pretty hard to choose only one and I apologise because I'm not only a case man but I only enjoy reading the Case forum. So favourite to look at and listen to pulling hard is a Case 500, my favourite to drive is a Field Marshall series 2, favourite to start is my P model (45HP) Lanz Bulldog.

    Case LA

Hi, well I bought a cheap 44 gal drum of kero some years ago and so am still using that in my hobby tractors mixing it with petrol/gas. I picked up another drum of out of date helicopter fuel, they call it Jet A-1 here...basically just high quaility kero. So have that to use as well. They seem...

    Case LA

I think LAs are nice tractors and as you say thirsty on gas/petrol. I dilute the main tank with kero and she"s more economical, for an LA anyway. Mine is just crank start but pretty well behaved. In lots of ways it"s easier than keeping another battery charged. ..... so what cosmetic surgery did...

    930 solenoid

Thanks...sorry yes it"s for diesel. Ok I"ve got this 930 solenoid to fit onto a 500 diesel with an Autolite starter. I want to use it just like a conventional solenoid. The parts guy here couldn"t find anything else to suit. I just don"t want to damage it! I"m thinking ignition wire to R and...

    930 solenoid

Hi, I have a new solenoid to suit a 900/930 but no books or wiring diagrams to read. It has 4 terminals (2 heavy for the starter leads) and 2 light terminals marked R and S. I assume also that it will be negative earthed? Seems like a dumb question to me but what do R and S mean? Sorry I'm more...
