    Front mount dist.

    I just wiped out my Dist, after replacing bushings. The weights iunder the plate are messed up. It looks like to me I either buy new dist. or can I go with electronic ignition. Don't know what parts would be used, if any with elec. ignition.

    Thanks Jim for your response I am not wanting to remove the hood or the head to make the checks. My manual is not clear on exhaust valve location and I am not certain looking at the manifold. think I will have to study it a little closer.

    Puting my 48 8N together. the shop thinks I should use bolts instead of the studs. 7/16 x 3 inche studs. if I were to go with a bolt what grade would I need to look for and I feel the length would be different. maybe 2 1/2 inches

    Just about ready to pickup my motor from the shop. The shop ordered a new oil pump kit, know one of the gears just slides off, but not sure what problem I will have removing the other gear. Is it going to be a problem? Thanks for any info.

    Thanks for the number. Did a compression test and found #1 @ 80, #2 @ 80, #3 @ 50, and #4 @ 0 , Listening it sound like it is coming from the 3 and 4 piston area. just about ready to put the hoist on and remove the front end.
