    Snow = chains. Any suggestions?

I have some chains that I have never put on that came with the tractor. All the links look fine and the clasps at the end all work. So...any advice on how to put these on? Also, how hard are chains on concrete? I need the traction on my concrete drive to push the snow. Once I hit the...

Yup, got hammered good! Here is a video of the first push around noon. Had to run again around 5pm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKNius8zjPM&feature=youtu.be

    this is my 8N

I have the same mower on mine. Do you notice any bog on the tractor when you get into some longer grass?

    Log Hoist

The front might lift a little, but if you see the 3pt arms, they look locked in a very low position. So when the tractor's front goes up, those would hit the ground and prevent the front from lifting more? Just seems that is the only reason to have the 3pt arms locked in such a low position...

    Log Hoist

I've never seen this implement before so thought I'd share. Someone would probably find it interesting. Looks like a gear is attached to the PTO, and then that drives the pulley. Seems like a good way to loose a finger...

With all the talk on this board of Ohms and Resistance, I thought this was appropriate. Happy Friday!

    Cleaning the Air Filter

While gas is great, a 5 gal bucket would currently cost $16ish. Seems a bit expensive to use for a solvent. Anything cheaper that works just as well?

    Blue tractors at work

What is the thing that the bales are going into? When I helped bale it would just spit the bales up to the rack. Then one guy throws, another stacks. Having that almost looks like "cheating" :D

    8N throttle

Same here, I didn't have that spring and wouldn't stay in full power. Thought to myself "that little spring can't help me that much, I don't need it". But I finally went and got the spring, installed it, and wow, what a difference that made.

    12V Conversion

I second this. I went to Interstate batteries, got a "refurb" battery for $40 traded the 6v in for the core charge. Walked out with a battery and a smile on my face. I believe you want a battery in group 35, but I could be wrong.

    alternator top mounting bracket

    1) Why do you need/want the wiring tube? 2) here are some pics of mine from the kit I got on the site. Mine is a front mount 1949 8n.

    Leveling Box

Just a point of interest here, being one of those guys who "fixed" the 2000 year problem, I can tell you that lots of stuff would have broken. But, most companies got their acts together, hired a bunch of people to keep their systems running, and nothing bad happened. So the 2000 thing...

    Ran compression test today

Engine runs fine. My oil pump needs a rebuild though as after 30 min or so I get very low (4-5 psi) pressure on the gauge. So I was trying to decide if anything else needed some "assistance". This was all done with the hood on, so I don't think I'll be doing a wet test yet. Thanks for...

    Ran compression test today

Right, no oil or ATF in the cylinders. Just took out the plug, put in the tester, cranked starter a few times.
