    IH 1486 Heater

Having trouble getting heat in the cab. Foam good up top, clean, can run water through cab lines, have tried cardboard in front of radiator. Anything else I can try?

    IH 1486 steering problems

I've got an early 1486 model that I'm having trouble with the power steering. When the tractor is cold or going down the road it's almost like the steering wheel locks up for several seconds. I've replaced the obvious first, the hydraulic filter. Where should I start at next, MCV pump? Thanks

    IH 986 Turbo

The 986 is my planting, sprayer, and rake tractor. Not looking to turn it up any, I've got a 1486 for my heavier work. 986 has been a solid tractor for a long time for me

    IH 986 Turbo

I've got a 986 with a remanufactured SRC 436 and want to set it up with a turbo. Could I just find the setup from a salvage yard off a 1486, anything else I should know about doing this? Thanks

    IH 1486 TA

Sounds like you picked up a nice one from him. Does your 886 have the American or German engine? The tractor at Ottawa is a 1586 I believe, it only has around 4,500 hrs and looked pretty decent like you said. The 1486 I saw was up at wamego. I've been looking for another tractor around that...

    IH 1486 TA

Dealer has an IH 1486 on the lot. Pretty decent looking old tractor. Has case IH mechanical diode TA sticker on the hood but the TA handle in the cab is like its froze and will not pull back at all. What could the problem be, TA out or in the linkage? haven't talked to salesman just looked at it...

    IH 986 Start Up

Thanks for the quick response. I was just curious because my 756 diesel just fires up and runs smooth. My 986 probly stumbles for 5-10 seconds depending on air temp outside. The injector pump had been replaced before I got the tractor many years ago. Had a couple weeping injectors and went ahead...

    IH 986 Start Up

I've noticed with my 986 that when I start it up even in warm weather it kinda sputters, caughs, and blows a little smoke for a bit then clears up and runs smooth and sounds good. Has the 436 engine and does start smoother after the tractor has been ran.

    IH 806

Looking at an 806 and as I test drove it the tractor would pop out of gear, pop out of 1,2,3 but would stay in 4 mostly. Any ideas on what it'd take to fix? Thanks

    IH 444 gas

I'm looking at an International 444 gas utility. The guy claims it was running fine until he washed it before I came to look at it. It now starts hard and has a steady miss/pop. I also noticed when it misses it blows a puff of smoke out behind the carburetor towards the block. Any ideas are...

    Allis 7045

Thank you DrAllis for the response. I unscrewed the drain plug to the last thread and only oil came out. Hopefully this means I've caught it early. I saw a drop on the breather tube a few days ago before I ran the tractor and then again the next day. I had been working ground but now at home and...

    Allis 7045

Ive got an Allis 7045 with some coolant coming out of breather and also accumulated on cap of oil fill. Very small amount and not showing on the oil dipstick. Had it overhauled about five years ago. Any ideas would be great!

    IH 756 Diesel

The IH 756 diesel still has the nagging problem of running ruff or loping when I let out on the cluch to move the tractor. It will also do this sometimes just sitting at an idle. I've changed fuel filters and also have cracked all the injector lines one at a time. All have fuel. Any help is...

    706 with 310 German

Sounds like that must be the situation with this 706. Thanks!

    706 with 310 German

Our other German engines fire right off not having to pull the cable unless it cold. I hit it with ether so it'd start. I then wondered what it'd do if I used the cable in the sweet spot and tried that and it started up. I just don't understand why this thing won't start up without using the...
