    sleeve removal and installation

To install them back, its good to freeze the sleeves overnight and drop them in fast before they warm up. Dry ice in a cooloer is a good way to keep them freezing.

    O.T. chain saws choices

I bought a Husqavarna Model 460. Little bigger than the 455 and I love it. Starts right up and is no comparison to the Stihl models that others I know have.

    Hydraulic lift trouble

Had the same problem after I changed out some old oil the PO had in. Very carmel in color but the blade stayed up. Changed the oil to straight 90W and the hydraulics dropped alot. Changed the oil again, but this time went to the 80W90 and it works like new.

    M/S Carb. ED.-passageway cleanout info/6 pix-dialup be aware

I was told by a mechanic in Oklahoma that a good way to unplug a carb's jets (seeing if that is a problem for the poor running condition) is to switch the #2 and #3 plug wires and start it up to backfire thru the carb. Any comments??

    Hydraulic oil change question

Dell, What is the issue with 80W90 oil in the sump for the 9N? I though I read on this sight that it is an option. I justed changed out the oil this last weekend and added 80W90 and the hydraulics work great now. Previous oil the TS allowed it did not hold the pressure.

    Curiousity

I have been looking at alot of N tractors, and especially the carburetor area due to all the issues I had, and I noticed alot of them have the in-line filter. I thought that these are made for the vacuum type systems? Do people add them not knowing or is there a special in-line filter made for...

    Choke Flap

I noticed on my 9N that the choke plate has a "half moon" opening along with an opened slit at the bottom so when the choke is closed, air can still get by. Recently a friend bought an new carb and the choke plate had a half moon shape that was closed off, but spring loaded to open and no slit...
