    Old gas, lesson learned

Had about five gallons of old gasoline I removed from a pontoon boat fuel tank. I tried to think of ways to get rid of the oil/gas mixture and finally decided to pour it in the gas tank of the 2N along with five gallons of fresh gas. Problem solved, right? Not hardly. Since then I have rebuilt...

    International 1066 engine

I read alot of comments about guys that had a 1066 with a DT466. I know alot of guys swap engines, but just to be sure, I have a 76" 1066 stripe. I was under the impression that it has a DT414. Was that the only engine they came with or was there an option? Or does everyone swap them for show...

    Oh, That Darned Thing...

called the alternator, was only kinda doing it's job. Seems the alt might not have been spinning fast enough until almost wide open. For reasons unknown, the vr in the alt would continue to do it's thing until I reduced the engine speed, all the way & I have the engine turned down just to where...

    ford 800

I did give them the number on the tag on the carb but that didnt help. Maybe they took the number from me but didnt use it. Do you know how to determine the year of manufacture? Where is the serial number of the tractor? Thanks to everyone for the help.

    ford 800

How do you determine the year model and engine size and such stuff on a ford 800? I needed a new fuel strainer assembly for mine, sent for it, and it was the wrong one. It was for the 172 engine, and mine is supposed to have the 172, but my carb is like on a 134. Difference in the part is the...

    ford 800

OK, everything else has failed to help me with my carb problem so now what I want to do is do away with the sediment bowl and use an inline filter. Problem is, the gas inlet on the carb where the bowl attatchment connects seems to be an oddball size. Does anyone know where to get a nipple to fit it?

    ford 800

Rust in gas. I did all the things that were talked about in my first post, and all I saw was tiny particles of rust in the gas, it still wont run when you load it up. What I'm wondering, is there any good way to eliminate the rust in the gas tank? The tank really dont look so bad, but that has...

    ford 800 carb

I'm having a tough time with the ford 800 I bought, the carb is giving trouble. The people I bought it from worked on it and got it to run good, and it continued for awhile, then seemed to start loading up, flooding. When I hooked a plow to it and put it to work, it balked. I believe some water...
