Had about five gallons of old gasoline I removed from a pontoon boat fuel tank. I tried to think of ways to get rid of the oil/gas mixture and finally decided to pour it in the gas tank of the 2N along with five gallons of fresh gas. Problem solved, right? Not hardly. Since then I have rebuilt the carb, cleaned the plugs twice, replaced them once, cleaned the sediment bowl twice, cleaned the screen once, replaced the starter and the ignition switch. Not to say some of these things didn’t need to be done anyway, but it sure took away from my seat time. Good thing is now it starts quick and runs great. Moral of this story: don’t put anything in the gas tank of your 1946 2N Ford tractor that you wouldn’t put in your wife’s 2010 Ford Fusion.
