    Go to your local auto parts house, pick up a ballast resistor for a 55 chevy, and you'll be good to go. The coil doesn't care how many volts go to it. It only cares about current. so you need to limit the current by installing a low resistance (1-5 ohms) when swapping from 6v to 12v. Ohms law...

    OK, Some tests to run. They are simple, and will tell a lot. Hook volt meter across battery terminals. Note voltage. Turn on ignition, and hit the starter, watch the voltage. It will probably drop some. How far it drops, and whether or not it stays at that lower voltage when you stop cranking...

    Found the source of the noise. Strange how sound is transmitted through iron, and steel. What sounded like coming from bell housing, is actually at the other end of the engine. Now to get a water pump overhaul kit. :D

    Amp meter install issue

    When I converted my 2N to 12 volt, I just kept the original amp meter. I didn't even switch the wires, so it shows a discharge when it's charging. ;)

    Hydraulic three point issues

    Did you disassemble and clean the valves? Had that problem with a 9N that had sat for many years un used. Valve stuck in the up position.

    Backblade....did i mess up?

    We had a 7' blade for our 9N. It was heavy. So heavy that in the right situation the blade would not come up, but the front end would. ;) Now the 6' bush hog that I currently have is a tad heavier, but the 2N has a front bumper of RR track to act as counter weight. :D
