Anyone ever replace mesh in cleaner body? How u get it apart? Is there a paper filter to replace mesh with and eliminate oil bath?

Want to put new Tach on my 1800,don't wanna spend 130 + cable. Can't I just use electric Tach and run wires to coil?

Why when I look up number stamped on crank it says for 283

Ok,I have 1800a needs bearings and crank ground,mechanic says it's a 265 and cant find bearings but number on crank tells me it's out of 283. See pics,,,any help would be greatly appreciated.
