    I'm trying to determine where the oil holes in rocker arm shaft are positioned in relation to rocker arms. There is an oil hole on top of rocker arm and one bored towards push rods. Any help or pictures would help. Thank you, Brian

    1930 L head

    Started on the head today. As picture shows one stuck valve and one raised guide. The valve should free easily with some fluid and time and small hammer. Not sure about valve guide. I"ve broken one before tapping with medium hammer. Any advice? Thank you, Brian.

    worked on the 30 L

    Pulled the head. Started removing rust. Soaking pistons with penetrating fluid. I broke one head stud. Any advice on that? Will start working on pistons with a block of wood and small hammer with patience. Brian

    I just pulled this off my 30 L. First time dealing with a magneto. I assume lever on front is on/off. Mine moves from 3 oclock to 5 oclock, but need to use some force. Not sure what metal strap from center screw to lower left screw is for. And do I need to get into it to service. And how...

    removed valve cover on the L

    finally got the manafold off then the valve cover. Looked better than expected. Oil tube was worn through from push rod contact. Next remove head. Any thoughts? Brian

    put her to the test today

    It's Van Sickle equipment enamal gloss Ford grey from local Coastal Farm and Ranch Supply. 35$ a gallon no thining required with my cup gun. I did not use hardener because I leave paint in the gun for weeks and spray a little at a time.

    First time out after restore, hauled the 49 8n front mount out to mow. This was also my first time using a sickle mower. One hour in she died, no spark. Took the dizzy home found no continuity with points closed. New points not available in time, so sanded and cleaned. Put back together...
