Whoops.... Bank collapse... tractor on side in dyke...Now

Thank you ............................................. Whilst searching the net I had found that exact video after it was mentioned that none took as little at 2 gallons. So now we will run the tractor for a few months then drain it down again and change the fluid once more. This should flush...

    Oil Leak after over heating

<QUOTE author="Norm"><s> /e></QUOTE> Norm yes it is the same one. She was laying upon her right side for about an hour or so until we managed to get her out and upright again. Sadly an engine overhaul is beyond economic repair. The prices here in the UK just make it not workable. If you could...

Whoops.... Bank collapse... tractor on side in dyke...Now

The only drain plug that I saw was the 17mm headed one just below the strainer housing. However upon going out just now with a flash light I see what may be another one further forwards just under the drive shaft housing for the front wheel drive. Using the light to see into the gearbox through...

Well I drained the fluid this afternoon and boy did the strainer need cleaning:- <s></s><IMG src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/Brithunter/Compact%20tractor/P8070428_zps2f29345f.jpg"><s></e> After a clean it looked like this. I used a rag and got as much of the sludge and muck out of...

    Oil Leak after over heating

Thank you for the suggestions. I have just tried to tighten the nuts that hold the exhaust silencer (Muffler) to the manifold and managed to tweek them up a bit. We will have to wait and see if that helps or not. I will try to obtain a new gasket for the exhaust silencer and see if that helps as...

Whoops.... Bank collapse... tractor on side in dyke...Now

Well the fluid had a reddish tint like ATF but as I cannot be sure what was in it then I guess it will have to be dumped and changed. The cost here in the UK for such fluids is a bit of a shocker though. A quick search results in prices of between £100-£400 for 25 litres <E></E> .

    Oil Leak after over heating

Due to a knackered fan belt, yes I should have checked it but the tractor came with the water pump just replaced and I didn't think they would re-fit the knackered belt, well she boiled up. No signs of H/G failure, water is clean and no signs of coolant in the Oil. However she has developed this...

No not that spring as that is in place as shown in these photos:- <s>[url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Brithunter/media/Compact%20tractor/P8060422_zpsed14a7aa.jpg.html]</s><IMG src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v166/Brithunter/Compact%20tractor/P8060422_zpsed14a7aa.jpg"><s></e> The...

Whoops.... Bank collapse... tractor on side in dyke...Now

Yes the fluid looks looks clean. Have just been out to the tractor and seen the plate you mention and the drain plug. Oh yes when she went over it seems that a return spring popped off the lower left lever from the control valve for the 3PT arms so I will need to find a replacement for that...

Whoops.... Bank collapse... tractor on side in dyke...Now

Stainer??? Hmmm where do I find this? I know nothing about he system on these apart from where to check and top up the level if required. We are new to tractor ownership and use. So far since acquiring this 1601D I have replaced a badly worn fan belt, put anti freeze in as it only had plain...

Whoops.... Bank collapse... tractor on side in dyke...Now

After recovery from the dyke and topping up lost fluids the 3PT impliment hydraulics only work/lift when cold and make an awful noise when lifting on our YM1601D. I am assuming it's air in the system. The background to this is that I was cutting the grass on the field along side the dyke and...

    YM1601D just acquired

Ahh thank you. The top left <I><s></s>"oil light" <e></e></I>comes on when you turn the key left to pre heat position hence I thought it was the pre heat light. As it lights up when it's turned on and goes out once the engine starts I can only assume it's working OK. This morning bought two...
