    Drilling Glass

Keep dribbling water on the carbide spade bit. Best to use a drill press to control your feed. Be REALLY careful as you start to break thru to the other side to carefully slowly feed the drill bit to go thru and enlarge the hole to the drill size.

    Aermotor A702

Traveling to Mexico for work, on the western side of Monterray is an Aeromotor factory. Always wanted to stop in there, but we were always in a rush. Had about a dozen various sized windmills in operation along the highway.

    Trickle Charge over winter

If you don't want to buy multiple maintainers, move the maintainer from battery to battery once a week. If a battery can't hold a charge for a month or so on its own, it is soon to fail anyway. My friend used to line up all of his batteries on a bench in his basement, and just move the...

    Thermometers

Any place you need to understand the temperature of fluids in a process. Today, generally, digital gauges are used, but these are still available.

    Unusual to me, Tapered taps

Boiler threads are generally 12 pitch, and they are too tapered for any stud work. Interesting tooling though......

    1953 ford golden jubilee

I put pistons & sleeves in my dad's tractor a decade ago. Made a puller for the sleeves. Used dry ice to chill the new sleeves and they dropped right in.

Hi - - saw your note about the 6" belt for sale. Where bouts are you located? I'm central west Michigan.

    Looking for a flat belt.

You'll probably be shocked at the cost of a new belt. Used ones come up from time to time on Marketplace. There's a 6" belt currently in central Michigan right now.

    Inexpensive metal detectors

Compare the depth that it will reach common items and go from there. Cheap ones are cheap because they don't necessarily have the range of more expensive ones.

    Drill Press Motor

Check Market Place for used motors. You need one with a similar base to mount to your machine. Key is to find one that will run on 110v (assumed), same RPM, and shaft diameter to match your pulley. Most motors are reversable with changing a couple wires. Regarding quality of motor, nearly...

Need Workshop Ideas! Taking down Storage Shed and Building Bigger!

Wood construction? Put the building up on at least one course of concrete blocks. Keeps it that much farther away from wet grass/soil. Also, any welding going on, sparks run up to the blocks, not wood sills. 110v outlets at 50" of the floor, so that any 4x8 sheets stored along the wall...

What Gear To Climb Hill In? Massey Ferguson 20

Listen to your engine. Working RPM should be around 3/4 throttle or more. If going into a hill, the engine doesn't labor much, you can entertain a higher gear. If you can really hear it slow down to half the RPM that it started, that is too much load, and the horsepower output, as the RPM...

    Farmall ignition switch

It is the International AI. Switch mounts vertically on the steering column. Understand, yeah, a tarp, but these tractors were designed to be left out in the field and operated.

    Farmall ignition switch

Does anyone have a source for a better push-pull ignition switch for the letter series tractors ? Have had several new and old ones fail due to water getting inside.

    Flipping 8Ns worth it?

Gotta remember that many of these tractors are pretty wore out at this point, unless they have been actively maintained thru their life. How far do you go into a rebuild to make a better, or great tractor, and still only end up with a tractor worth $3-4000 rebuilt & polished up. Rear tires...
