    Model M Carburetor

I am really not playing with anything but I am referring to the idle adjustment needle.

    Model M Carburetor

The adjustment needle can be turned all the way in and there is no difference in engine performance. That engine should stall out but does not. Im told internal issue, possibly hairline crack. O/H was performed but problem only evident when engine running and needle closed.

    Model M Carburetor

I have a model M serial number M - 55113. The carb I have on it is a TSX530. I need to replace but will not buy these universal one carb fits all crap again. Been there--done that. Is this the original model carb for this tractor? Or is it possibly TSX245? I bought a rebuilt DLTX34 for my B and...

John Deere M front light mounts

Where do you secure your front light bracket to the tractor? The bracket is M 646 T. I thought it might secure to the support AM2852T. It does have a hole in each side. I question that though. Also, although I see photos of M's with only one front light an one back light; is it common to have 2...

    Model M brakes

Thanks for the input. I do believe the lack of fenders is the problem. Once they are on I do believe the problem will be solved. But I will also recheck the brake pedal assembly. Thanks again

Yes, the clam shell fenders are off.

    Model M brakes

I have a model M serial number 55113. Confused on the brakes. With 2 brake pedals on the right, working individually or together. The inside brake pedal will only lay back until it hits the metal stop on the tractor. That's good. What keeps the right outside pedal from falling way back, so far...

    1943 John Deere B

Ordered 6 rivet shoes as my serial number dictates. Parts number crossed to at least one or 2 other numbers and the shoes came in as 8 rivet. Checked at dealer the parts numbers and all correct so I will assume JD will now send you 8 rivet shoes for the 43 B #144427. Maybe all others as well.

    1943 John Deere B

The B with serial number 144427 definitely calls for the 6 rivets. That is what I ordered to replace. It should work unless the previous owner replaced the whole brake system that uses 8 rivets.

    1943 John Deere B

I want to thank all who gave me tips on removal of the brakes on the B, especially the pictures. All worked out well by taking your advice. The brakes on the B with serial number 144427 should have 6 rivets per shoe. Mine has 8. I am getting new shoes and linings. Some of the shoes have been...

    John Deere B brakes

I have 1943 B. Serial # 144427. I wish to inspect the brake shoes and inner works. It seems the hard way is to pull the shift cover and reach down in the trans and remove a nut and cotter pin then slide the brake shaft out, hoping your wheels are not in so much that you cannot remove without...

    JD B pan seat

When did John Deere start to offer the soft square seat on the B and A? I thought it may have been when they went to electric start. I have a 43 B with a pan seat and flywheel start.

    Rear tires on JD B

I appreciate all the input but hearing many options. I would like the tractor to stand level but now leans forward due to the oversize rear tires. The fronts are 5x15 as was on the original B from the factory. I am not doing field work but certainly taking it through different type terrain from...
