Preparing a Ford 4600su for Sale.
If you told me those things than told me something good about the tractor I would be more inclined to believe you. Other wise I am pretty much of a skeptic about information that I am given. -

Is there any snags that I need to look out for while pulling the hydraulic oil pump on my 1973 4000, 3 cylinder gas tractor. Following the owners manual for checking the oil in the rear axle I unscrewed the wrong screw. I can't get the screw to tighten up now, so I am thinking that there... -

Checking oil levels
I made the dip stick yesterday, looks like it is going to work on the transmission but not on the axle housing. Too much stuff to get around in the housing. So this has raised another question, does the oil move back and forth between the transmission and the rear axle housing? The tractor... -

John they make sight glass that would work here, the one that I mentioned is vented at the top. So the oil would come up into the glass equal to the oil level in the tractor case. The case would have to be over filled just a little bit. Maybe my understanding how the oil holes work was as... -

Have any of you came up with a good way to check the oil levels in the transmission and rear end. I am thinking about replacing the pipe plug and screwing in a sight glass that has a metal shield around it. The running board on this 73 4000 almost blocks the transmission plug and it does... -

Well it took me long enough to get this problem fixed. It is the pits when you need a part and have to order it and wait a couple of days to a week for the parts to come in. This turned into a two part problem. The real problem was that the points and condenser went bad. Had to wait a week... -

Yesterday, I pulled the fuel filter off and cleaned the real fine crud out of it. The gasket is old and hard. Today I went to the NH dealer, he looked up the number "C5NN9160A" and found it was not serviced any more. Do you guys have any suggestions to a place where I can get one? If not... -

while I was a couple of miles away from home yesterday. I towed it home with the pickup. The tractor is a 1973 4000, 3 cylinder. Today I removed the front end loader bucket and started trouble shooting the fuel as that is what the problem seems like. So the gas line and tank shut off... -

massey 165 draft link boot
I have ordered a new boot for my draft link.(tranny all wet) I have not got a manual and wondered how to get the draft link out in order to change the boot. I have the link and yoke sticking out and it will spin around but what do I have yo do to ger it out? I doubt the boot would stretch enough...- Fordman6442

Thanks Old. I found the modern view and it is one that I am more familiar with. We have been using a computer for about 5 years now and I still have a lot to learn. Probably too old to learn it all now anyway. Thanks to all of the rest of you that did reply to my two post.
