1957 Ford 600 carb bowl drain plug

re:pipe thread. pipes are measured on inside dia.for obvious reasons. so the outside thread has to be larger to allow for the pipe wall. consequntially, a 1/2" pipe, schedule 40,will have an outside diameter of approx.3/4" And so on for other sizes.

    Honda 2113 mower

A friend has as 2113 mower that starts as though the decompress is not working very well. Puts a lot of load on the starter to get it spinning but runs nice and starts quick once it flips over. He may have some fuel/oil getting onto the top of the piston from who-knows-where when it sits for a...

    AC 8010

Made an adaptor plate 5/8 thick to fit bel housing to the 466. (similar to Allis motor plate) The Ihc has the starter in the same position as Allis so it fit the bel housing. And moved front motor mount locations.I used The Allis rad and air cleaner.Hood fit fine.Exhaust had to be tweaked.I had...

    AC 8010

I ran one for 12000 hrs. Only replaced the water pump and valve cover gasket. It did a lot of hyd work--sprayer pumps, orbit motors, etc. Hyd's were excellent. Cheaper to opperate than any tractor I owned, but allways hated the clutch/transmission/shifting thing.Never used it for heavey field...

    8050 Clutch linkage

Connect about 2 feet of hose of large enough diameter over the cable housing at one end with clamps. Then fill the hose with diesel then pressurize it with air?? Operate the cable from the other end to move the lubricant along the cable. Remove the dust seals on the cable first. Check that the...

    Is it worth it?

Be sure to hook the ground jumper to the tractor frame last, --not the positive to the battery or the starter post. The battery could explode if you connect last to it (from sparks), or arching could ruin threads on the starter. Been there done that. Wish I could see better now!

    6420 JD instument panel

Thanks for all your help! By removing and replacing the ground cable at the battery, the ground connection was restored on line 050, and both panels returned to normal (dash and console were both out ). Actually the grounds cluster at the battery need proper cleaning, but he owner has returned...

    6420 JD instument panel

Anyone know what might be the cause of the dash (BIF) not working --like no warning lights, fuel or temp guages or tach and ground speed? Also the display on the right side panel next to the hyd controls quit at the same time. All the fuses are ok and the wires are intact behind the fuse board...

    Out of ideas

I weld a flat washer over the broken stud first--easy to do with mig welder-- then weld hex nut on the stud-- through the hole only!--let it cool good then use a light impact driver to loosen it a bit at a time.

    Starting

Could be a bad cell in one battery. do a load test on each battery after it sets a day or so. Feel all the connections-after you try to crank it--hot ones are no good.--Or-- Change to one 12 volt battery rated 1000 amps.and you will have less trouble with unbalanced batteries. Be sure to feel...

    Farmall M help needed

Lifters may be siezed if the push rods don't move. but they can only be siezed in the up position which would of course hold the valves wide open.

Ford 850 Fuel Valve part II

Mine had a short hose at the carb end --probably not original but didn't leak with a couple spring type gas line clamps. Don't use screw clamps.

Ford 850 Fuel Valve part II

I fixed that valve problem by putting a 1/8 in. male/female brass pet-cock type valve right on the carb inlet. Way handier and cheap!

    851 ford diff==left wheel only

Differentals are intended to transfer power to both wheels equally. Of course the wheel with the least traction will slip first. Jacking it up and free-wheeling it will only indicated minor differeces in friction , unless one brake is seriously grabing. While it is jacked up, turning one wheel...
