John Deere 50 , wire on distribtor side of ign coil
I'm working on a model 50 two cyl and it has a wire on the distributor side of the ign coil going to the ign switch switch, along with the wire going to the distributor. I checked a wiring diagram in Deere service manual and it shows that wire but I cannot find any explanation for it's...- pete 23

'64 Ford 4000 3pt lift won't raise
I have had the same problem on my Ford 4000 few weeks ago. I paid a guy to replace most of the O-rings and seals while I had the lift cover assembly opened. It was working OK so far after that. But I would say start by changing the hydraulic fluid first before going deeper into the lift cover... -

Ford 4000 Hydraulic System Problem
Thanks everyone for your input. I finally got my tractor back to work after I paid someone to check the unloader valve and replaced some of the O-rings. I also changed the hydraulic fluid and took out the pump for inspection. Not sure what"s the problem but the good thing is it"s working... -

Ford 4000 Hydraulic System Problem
All I knew I had 3 speed forward and 1 reverse with a high and low shift. I"m more concern about the hydraulic problem than the speed so I will need sometime to pin point the hydraulic problem before getting in depths of the speed. My tractor has 3 speeds exactly as described by LsTra. I"ve checked my trans/hydraulic fluid and they all appeared to be fined. I had a lots of fluid flowed thru the level plug on the rear axle (hydraulic pump plate). About half quarts of hydraulic fluid has flown from the hydraulic level plug... -

Hi soundguy, There are some hand written of 1,2,3 an R by marker from the previous owner. I wasn't sure if it's a 6 or 8 speed. I’m new to the tractor world and not familiar with tractor. Where or how can I check the utf fluid level and sticky unloading valve? -

Thanks Brian, I will give it a try. That"s what I thought because I had a leak somewhere around the back axle and front transmission. I wasn"t sure if it"s a rear axle fluid or front transmission fluid. Does the rear axle and hydraulic system use the same fluid in the rear axle? -

Todd, Yes, please give me the number for the seal. I may want to split my tractor anytime soon. Do you need two jacks to jack up both the front and rear befor split it up? -
