First Cub tractor.
I just hauled in my first cub tractor. Has a few issues I'm working through. One of those that I want to correct is a fuel leak at the carburetor from a brass bolt. No idea what this is for and wanted to inquire purpose before I removed. Looks like a felt washer behind the head of the bolt. Did...- cst010

Front seal leaking -- Super A
I have an opportunity to pick up a Super A. Two items that I saw when view the machine are: 1--front seal (not sure what seal) is leaking quite a bit. PTO adapter
Pulled the original pto shaft from the tractor. There is a difference in appearance between the two. The shaft on the bottom is the original, on the top is the shaft with 1-3/8 splines. Measured (at the widest point shown) and there is a small difference; the original shaft is .0002 smaller. I... -

Not very familiar with these machines and hoping someone can tell me what model this farmall is. Has not run in quite a while and appears to need front tires. Thinking(!) about picking this up as a project.- cst010

PTO adapter
Was able to solve the issue. Purchased a PTO shaft that is 1-3/8. The seal on the shaft is bad so going to replace the seal and bearing on the 1-3/8 shaft. -

PTO adapter
Thank you for the comment but I believe you misunderstood. I have a 1-1/8 to 1-3/8 adapter, not an overrunning clutch. A roll pin at 5/16ths is loose. I can push the roll pin through the hole in the adapter and pto shaft with my fingers. A roll pin at 3/8ths is way too large. Cannot find a... -

PTO adapter
Have a ford 55 ford 860. Purchased a PTO adapter to convert to 1-3/8. Found that a 5/16th roll pin is too small but a 3/8 is too large? What do most people use to pin the adapter to the PTO shaft? Would a 5/16th bolt/nut/washer work for this? Seems just a little sketchy to go that route. -

Thanks. This is good information. I will need to take this machine out on the road with the farthest field about 6 miles away. Three of those miles are two lane highway, remainder are tertiary tar and chip roads. Great information. I may go this route. -

Have an opportunity to purchase either an 801 series with diesel engine or a 861 with a gas engine. Both are in good condition however the 861 will need pto seal and bearing replaced (leaks a lot). Crank no start 661
As an update. I did pull the plug at the bottom of the carb. Fuel flowed freely from hole and did fill a 12-ounce soda can but believe it took more than 2 minutes. I do plan to replace the current coil with a coil (both are 12v) I have that does require an external resistor--just easier than... -
