    So not too long ago the advice I got was to replace the paper gaskets on the counter shaft and maybe the mainshaft because of a minor leak just in front of the trans drain. I was taking the tractor apart for restoration anyway so I removed the engine over the weekend and I ordered the gaskets...

    I just got this 49' 8N running that I flushed the rear and trans and filled with new Hi-Tran. I have a leak from the cotter pin that is right in front of the Trans drain. My guess from looking at the I&T shop manual is it might be from the counter shaft. Any advice would be appreciated. I...

    Draft control yoke removal

    Dean and everyone, Thanks for the help. I was able to get the yoke off without breaking anything. I had soaked it with penetrating oil overnight and used a long strong arm. What a bugger. Thanks again for the help.

    Dean, Thanks, I have been putting penetrating oil on the plunger because I guessed it was rusted. I assumed it was threaded because according to the manual that is where you adjust the tention on the draft control. Just to be clear. I don"t need to drive a pin out to unscrew the yoke...

    Can anyone tell me how to remove the draft control yoke and draft control spring from the early 8n Ford. I see in the manual they talk about a pin but I just can"t find one. I appreciate any help. Thanks, Dave
