    9General purpose grease

i use red-n-tacky primarily for the anti-washout properties. A lot of 'wet' operation in my clay slick, and most of the tools live outdoors.

    Small acreage profitability?

We made $1200 off a 200x50 garden, but a lot of work!

I'm ready for the high wind.

We put in a whole house after the 2nd basement flood, bad knees making hauling from the sump a nightmare. Backup gennie, backup battery sump pump, and now we can go on vacation and just not worry. We get to 6 before it fires up, change the oil and clean the spiders out of the enclosure every...

    Poor Design (not tractor)

As a 35+ year veteran of automotive engineering, I can state that we take service-ability seriously. Take the headlight change. There is a an access plug in the wheel well. Crank the steering to the side, turn the plug, reach up, and twist out the bulb. Same thing on my Equinox. Why are...

Gotta love living in the rust belt!

2017 truck with 34000 miles getting all new brakes due to 'lot rot', dirt road, and winter salt. All 4 rotors and pads toasted.

    Compact tractors 40-55HP

Absolutely love my Kubota L4060. Loader, QT forks and bucket. No cab because I drive around in trees a lot. 39hp and about 8000# with loader and loader rears, 4wd, hydrostat (bad left knee). Much nicer to drive than the old Case 430 which now is pretty much on rototiller duty. For serious...

    Wear on Front axle pivot

Pivot pin was corroded and the hole in the axle oval on my B. Overbored the hole, put in a bushing, then replaced the pin with a hardened bolt, pressed fitted. Seems to work fine.

New here - what tractor to get

Buy a Massey 23x with a loader and don't look back. The Oliver is for farming, not really a utility tractor. Others have commented on the MM and Ford. There are a ton of Masseys, parts are easy and lots of reuse for many years. Personally i have been using a Case 430, but no loader or...

    72 today

love to see old iron put to a use. Down here in Armada, the ground has re-emerged from the lake bottom but still too wet to work. Strolling across the lawn will get you wet feet. I'm sure the 3 spring days the clay will be perfect to work will be during next week. How do I know? I will be...

    Farmall H Alternator conversion done

Part number of the Hitachi? Can't quite make it out in the photo... Like to do this on one of my old machines. Fortunately it's a diesel so no coil issues.

    88 industrial hydrotrencher

I agree about the restored value not being as high as repair cost. That being said, I like to resurrect some of the old stuff, knowing full well that it's for a hobby not for money. Otherwise I wouldn't have $3k in my 1/2 finished Allis B. If you were by SE MI I'd love to have it, could use...

    New toy/ headache

Will you truck it over to Port Huron area for $900? Any way you look at it it is a steal.

    Even more from Fowlerville!

Food was excellent and it was great to see Talers in person. Only wish I could have spent more time getting to know each of you better. Very diverse and yet very similar in some ways.
