Hey to all ! Don't get on here much, but always find friendly people and great advice. I'm looking for a used bush hog, and although I have a mechanical back round (auto mechanic 35+ yrs.) I know nothing about bush hogs. I need to know what to look for in checking out a used unit. Have...

    HOW BIG ?

I own a 1959 TO35 Deluxe. It's in better than good working condition, on a scale of poor, fair, good, very good, excellent. To the question, how large of a bush hog would you use on it if it were yours ? The old tractor starts runs well, all the hydraulics (3pt) works as it should. I just don't...

    Ferguson acessories "Tractor Jack"

I own a TO 35 Deluxe, and reading through the Operators manual I saw reference to the "Tractor Jack" , the written description is of how the jack is used and with the pictures being of poor quality I was wondering if any one here in the forums has acess to pics or a link that are of better...

    6v to 12v conversion on TO35

Hey Dude, I know the 6 V starter will work with a 12 V battery but, if you should get into extended cranking it could damage the starter. If your tractor is tuned well and fires up easily you shold be able to get by with the 6V starter for quite a while

    oil dip stick

tony, The length of the stick from the bottom to the top of the sheet metal"lid" or the stop, is 11 & 3/16th inch, I don't know how big you want to make the finger loop. The low or add mark (mine reads danger) is 13/16ths from the bottom, the safe operating range mark is 1 and 15/16ths of...

    '59 to-35 identification question

fly, The special will not have live pto, nor the Tractormeter, (tach). It will have single stage clutch. Look at the pto lever on the left side and see if it has one or two positions, ground pto, engine pto, if it does it is a Deluxe. I have a TO35 Deluxe 1959 also.

    BIG WHEELS KEEP ON TURNING

Bob, Thanks for the info. I think I'll just install a electronic tach. Also I have a real good deal working on a new set of 12.4 chains, as I plan to use the Ferguson this winter to remove snow. thanks Drue (aka dagger dog)

    BIG WHEELS KEEP ON TURNING

My TO35 Delux 1959 has 12.4 X 28 rear tires on the turn out wheels. I read the Nebraska test info and the rear tires on the tractor for the tests was 11X 28's and 10 X 28's. This is where I need some input from the guru's. Are the 12's helping or hindering? I do know that the gearing is set...

    TO-20 stumper

buckeye, JerryMT's advice is valid and should be heeded, to make sure that is not causing some problems, and Jmors post stating about splitting the carb to gain acess to the main air bleed is correct. The carb on my TO35 is the Marvel, and I know they have a 4 Meg download of info on the...

    TO-20 stumper

Jerry, Blacksmoke, especially clouds of it usually designates too rich a mixture, too much fuel,or not enough air. The engine starting immediatley kind of rules out anything in the timing being off, if the timing was set wrong, the problem would usually be evident on the inital start...

    TO35 (Gas) manual

The Operators manual contains the maintenance info you are looking for. I bought the repair, operator, parts manuals, and went through the same search you did. These manuals are copys of the originals, and I guess the manufacturer figured if you bought a new tractor you needed to maintain it...

NEW GUY WANTS TO SAY HEY!

Thanks guys for all the tips and your warm welcomes. Saftey is a definite factor, I'm kinda leary of the old beast , it has way more power than any thing I've used before. So I will be cautiious!

    TO35 Battery

The hood on the TO35 I own hits the front bumper-brush guard when you tilt it up I think removing the two bolts that hold the bumper will let the hood tilt foward futher and you can gain acess to the battery that way, if thats the case with your TO. dd
