    In the pic the snap ring LOOKS ok... but down below it hangs down a lot. I think i could pull it out with my finger. Of curse i noticed the problem AFTER I re-installed it. Not much luck on the Case IH website....

    Hello all, I had the mainshaft out to replace the pilot bearing. After i re-installed it I noticed the snap ring in front of the rear main shaft bearing looks real liise and sloppy. Anyone know where to get IH part NO. 48713 D ? Maybe Bates Corp.? Thanks in advance Darryl

    yes, as a last resort, i will cut it off. Really don't want to pull the shaft. Will just have to clean out the case really well. thanks.... Darryl

    Yeah, i will maybe go down to my local Harbor Freight and see if they have a bearing seperator small enough to fit in there.

    I also thought today about maybe a pitman arm puller will fit in there. Have to take some measurements. I like your idea too. I'm no stranger to making my own tools to solve a problem. Thanks for the input.

    Hello All, Are there any clever ways of pulling the pilot bearing on a Super M. The jaws on my gear pullers are too thick, and I tried the 'torch and pry method. As you can see in the pic, it's missing a roller. I don't think i can get a bearing seperator in there? Also, who has the best price...
