    Paul, Did you notice when they talk about the amount of oil LEAKED, it's in barrels. When they talk about the amount of oil CAPTURED, it's usually in GALLONS...

    You"re chasing your tail if you"re replacing points. Look at what jdpuller and Tom said. If you aren"t getting spark when you roll it over and don"t here that snap, it"s something related to the impulse.

    E-85 isn't a good choice for a working tractor. It will dring a LOT more fuel than it will on gasoline. E-85 is for tree huggers that don't understand fuel consumption and people that want more power per cube but don't care about fuel economy.

    How much compression do you have? If you are on the RH side of the tractor, you rotate the distributor CLOCKWISE to retard it.

    Are all oil filters the same?

    Have you priced the Deere filters? They are about 6-8 bucks and made to the right spec. The relief setting may be different on the aftermarket ones, as well as the filtering media itself.
