    Are you refering to the Generator adjustment bolt and spring? If so, you will not use that with the 12V conversion. Post a pic of what you have and someone will be able to help.

    8N won't start

    Change your spark plugs. Use Autolite 437 plugs. You are definitely fouling the plugs if gas is dripping from the intake. Save your old plugs and burn off the gas with a propane torch. Clean them, set the gap and re-use them next time you foul them.

    The 1 and 6 hand stamps were changed at some point to resemble an I and b. There is a thread or a history page explaining this on this site or the other one.

    I would just change the gear and not the entire transmission. Look on the online auctions or ask around here for the part.

    bad starter switch

    I recently replaced a starter switch on a 2N. I went to a New Holland dealer for the new switch and was given a 9N11450A with an adapter. Not the original 9N11450B. They wanted $58 plus tax for the conversion kit. Crazy. I ended up ordering the 9N11450B online.
