    so,,,why not a new key ignition switch. key switch is nearly the only repair on the 3010,3020, maybe the 4020 and the other like tractors. i have no idea why they do not last more than five or so years or less.

    how are the brushes? i`ve had use my finger to reach the brushes and see if they are stuck, have free pressure to the armature,and see if there are sparks(needs to be dark) when gen is running. also the grooves on the armature could maybe need cleaning where brushes ride.

    the new belt is tight enough that the tightning nut is down in the slot making impossible to get a 1 1/4 wrench on it. i used a long nosed needle type vice grip to tighten the nut. i had bought a used 1 1/4 open box ended wrench to shave off some of the extra metal on the wrench to help get in...

    could you add a can of seafoam into the fuel? it might help but wont hurt anything.

    4210 quits running after 30 min under load

    take the fuel line off at the filter and see what kind of fuel flow you have there. if a tiny stream then trouble at the tank. if good flow trouble at the filter and beyond. some of the little tractors have a screen to unscrew at bottom of tank outlet that can get plugged.
