7710 trans fork
Neighbor finished up his 7710 reare split for trans fork, as we feared- No PTO. Gonna split it back apart this weekend. Local dealer claims we shouldn't be having this problem, given the precautions we took the first time.... we only split it 3", with three dowels threaded in to keep things... -

Got it together, but the last 1/4 inch was very difficult to get there. Had studs and bolts holding things in line so alignment would be optimized. Neighbor is finishing it up, but I have a gut feeling that there will be a PTO problem when he gets it ready to test run it. Will a PTO repair be... -

Neighbor came to me with a reverse fork problem in his 7710. Seems it has broken, he has the part, but apparently he needs to do a rear split to change it. One guy at the dealer said no, another guy said yes to the rear split. Equipped with cab. Do we need to do anything special to the PTO... -

IH T20 Value
Sold one about 8 years ago in NY (western). Engine was free, homemade manifold, when it last ran steering and brakes were top notch. Engine had oil and antifreeze in it- tracks were poor, no blade, with PTO on rear end. Got $500 for it.- dieseldr

d3 transmission shift linkage
Sounds reasonable to me, but I think I would bury the blade in clay or something substantial, give it full throttle while in low gear, and see if it will spin the tracks..... at least then you would know if the TC and forward clutch are sound. Just cuz it shifts good doesn't mean it won't slip...- dieseldr

JD 310C 4x4 transmission
Anybody know if a JD 210C 4x4 backhoe trans will fit a 310C 4x4 machine? Neighbor burned it up- low on oil. Found a 210C that caught fire he can buy cheap if the trans is the same, we'll go get it. Or if there are any other deere models that would work, let me know. It would be the 4 speed...- dieseldr

I think it is fine, I understand now that those rollers can counterrotate because the belts are loose with no hay.
