Not "correct" but I like to use brass/bronze nuts. They will always come off easy.

    splitting rocks

A propane torch will not work. We use oxy/propane to freshen up the surface of recyled cut stone. glennster is right. Pins and feathers will reduce any size stone down to a workable size. If it's in a hole just dig around it to make room to drill the holes.

O.K. something don't look right with these pistons (PIC)

Get your bore clearance correct if you use the aluminum ones. Many, including myself, have had problems with them seizing up when the cylinders were not bored to the right clearance.

    G governor howl

Greasing the fanshaft up front won't cure the back bearing. Still bettin the rear fanshaft bearing is the culprit.

    G governor howl

It sounds like the fanshaft may be the cause of the howl. The bearings in mine were shot and it made alot of noise.

Thanks Charlie. Do you have one of your old ones still kicking around ? Never thought that a dealer would have parts. Will try that too.

    John Deere #52 Plow

Just started to restore/repair a plow for going to plow days. It has the Syracuse 1451 NF moldboards and one of them is missing "chunks" and cracked. I'm guessing that it probably cannot be welded. Is it likely that I will be able to find a moldboard and chin if I search around ? Thanks.
