    Getting ready to do hydraulics

    I would replace anything that you could while you was doing it now. More then likely you'll never have to worry about it again for a long time... I was always told if you don't have time to do it right the first time, you must have the time to do it over later....

    Recap of Trying to start...

    Am I stupid or what? I had bought a new 12 conversion kits as the old Alt. wasn"t turning anymore after setting too long, also jury rigged brackets and bad wiring... Any way this kit as most included everything needed. Alternator, brackets, wiring harness, coil, and a resistor. Not the OEM...

    I don't know... but the first thing I'd do is trace that "fairly heavy wire behind the dash that is I believe red" down and see where the other end is it.....

    I don"t know, But to add my two cents in I would look/research at what powered this saw mill originally and go from there. Was it powered by more HP then the 8N?

    if the coils and fins was in better shape I'd have done that,It's been patched a few times before.. but such as it is I'd rather have it fixed then have to tear it down again....

    I got a 8n that has been converted to 12 system. it is a front mount coil. First question..... I need to replace the coil and not sure if it is 12v or 6v. I does have a Resistor that i think that is there to drop the voltage from 12 to 6. If I get a 12v coil do I remove the Resistor or would...

    Dad use to use copper sulfate to control algae. I think it worked on the cattails too... Don't know if that is environmentally correct or not anymore.
