    Propane

Make sure you read the contract before you call and tell them to pick up the tank. I had Amerigas for a propane company and I switched companies because they were a ripoff. I have a 500 gallon tank. In the contract it said if I canceled then the tank had to be at 5% or less or else they would...

    Best commuter car

My commuter car is an 05 Mercury Grand Marquis. It gets 26 mpg on my 100 mile round trip commute. That being said I wouldn't call the stop and go mileage "absolutely horrible". Since nnalert started I've been working from home so my driving has been strictly around town and I still get low 20's...

    Country line

I used their carb rebuild kit, it was in stock and I needed to get my 9N running quick so I bought the complete kit. It was made in USA and worked perfect ever since.

    lp gas tractors

Back in the 1990's I drove a 3000 gallon propane bobtail delivery truck for a living that was powered by LP. It was a GMC with a Tonawonda built 427 engine. It had more than adequate torque to pull that load. I'm guessing the lp gas tractors weren't as common because of the extra complexity...

    It is snowing

Jefferson New Hampshire got 5 inches a couple days ago. Nothing for us south of the notches though.

    Marriage

I thought his comment was funny. It's also the truth, people can't handle the truth anymore for some reason.

    Making fun of an ad

It's amazing how many people think new paint = completely restored.

    8N and snow

I live in NH and I get away with no ballast but I'm running duo-link chains with v-bars. I'm running a pull type snowblower though. With a back blade I would definitely go with ballast as well.

    David Brown 885

Thanks, it's only about an hour's drive from me so I think I'll go take a look at it. It's good to know they're good cold weather starters because I'm looking for a tractor to run a 3 point snowblower. The gearing of the 885 looks perfect for what I need along with the amount of HP it has at the...

    David Brown 885

I'm thinking about going to check out a 1975 David Brown 885 that's for sale and was wondering what everyone's opinions of this model is. It's a diesel and supposedly one owner tractor. Anything I should look out for?

Is the price in the ballpark

My '39 has a lot of non-original parts and it's still more original than his.

New here, looking for some input.

In the last couple of years since I've owned my N the only US made parts I've found was a carb kit (bought it at TSC surprisingly) and repop headlight assemblies from Dennis Carpenter. Also a Faria ammeter. Everything else was mostly made in India, China or Mexico.

    Massey Ferguson 135 jerky lift

Thanks for that info. He was asking $2950 which seems pretty high for something that needs a hydraulic pump and possibly a clutch. It also had a leaky rear axle seal on one side along with a bunch of electrical work that needed to be done.
