Lely 240 optimo
I have a Lely 240 optimo that broke the square driveshaft off at the gear box. It is 91 1/4 long and approximately 12mm or 7/16 square. Does anyone know where these can be found new, used or aftermarket? It appears to be made of harder than average steel. Thanks- Dpierce

How low does the oil pressure get before the indicator light comes on? Mine carries around 20lb at idle and 40-50 around half throttle. It?s been my experience that once a warning light comes on it?s usually to little to late and the damage is already done. -

My 5000 is a 68 made in October according to the numbers. It has the screw in plugs under the oil filter and block. Guessing this means the alternator gear drive is the way I will have to go. It does look like the oil pump drive would work better if it could be used -

Wiring question
thanks for the info. I wasnt sure how much amp draw the heater had or if the key switch could handle the amperage. I will plan to use a relay. Use lighter wire to the relay and #12 from the battery to the relay contact and to the heater itself. -

I have a 1968 Ford 5000 that has a intake heater that the wiring has been removed. What size of wire should this be and does the wire run straight from the key switch to the heater? No relay needed? -

soot from exhaust
I've been looking for a 7-8' mower to run behind it. looks like I have a reason to look a little harder now lol. The engine runs right at 180-190 degrees. -

I have a diesel 5000 that has a fair amount of soot that comes out the bottom of the exhaust pipe and drips runs and splatters down the side of the of the engine near the oil filter. it also has a little that makes its way to the top of the muffler and runs down. the tractor starts fairly easy... -
