    there is a crack right next to the spring tab on my front mount 12 coil and the cork gasket is black between the spring tab and coil spring. could this be the reason that my tractor is running like crap?

    try ordering a new spring and plunger and installing it. You more than likely will have a ton of oil pressure.

    the needle valve in the carb that runs off of the float can hang up on its seat. when you use a screw driver to put the seat in you can creat a bur on the I.D. of your seat.     I tried pulling the spring on the bottom of the coil out but that is not easy. I may get the vice grips out and go to town. I assume that a coil is good or bad and no in between? also what would happen if the rotor was turned 180 degrees?

    I made sure all of that stuff was touching when I put the whole dist together on the bench and installed it whole onto the tractor. I put new plugs in it but maybe I fouled them out when I had an electrical problem and now I have a spark plug problem. My next step maybe to clean the carb
