M - draining antifreeze opertg temp

Tom, Take your temp guage and probe (all one unit) in the kitchen when your wife isn"t home, and put the probe in a pan of water and bring it to a boil. Use one of her cooking thermometers and see how they compare. You will be able to tell if your temp guage is good or not...

    JD H

Mark, You might try pulling a plug and see if it is wet. That would let you know if you are getting gas to the cylinder. While you have the plugs out, lay them on the block and double check the timing. You might have it 180° off. Just a suggestion.

    John Deere 2010

James, I"ve got a 2010 Diesel and I"m very happy with it. It does a good job and other than normal maintenance, it hasn"t caused me any problems. I had to fix a few oil leaks when I got it, but it has run trouble free for the last 3 years.

You would do yourself a big favor by purchasing an owners manual for it. You can get them at Mother Deere or Deerly Departed. It will surely help to bring you up to speed.

    rocker arms setting

Kent is right. Set them @ .022 cold and they will be @ .020 hot. You are going to get that .022 gap between the top of the valve stem and the rocker arm when the piston is just before TDC. Both valves will be closed at that time. Then turn the flywheel 180 degrees and adj the valves on the...
