    Bobcat Interlock System Help

Any Bobcat Interlock System (BIS) experts around? Have a 873 skid steer in the shop that won’t allow you to unlock the loader functions but will let you drive around. Seems like it’s a seat / arm bar sensor issue. Found a service manual online and it shows a module (first picture) with lights...

Calling Tractorvet IH 706 PTO Pin

Wasn’t all that bad. I wouldn’t call it a fun job though. Did have to remove the lower drawbar support. Then the valve just shimmies on up in. Back in business though. New radiator and PTO working again, time to cut some more hay!

Calling Tractorvet IH 706 PTO Pin

Farmall 706 PTO was working fine one day, went out the next and nothing. Just pulled the control valve bottom plug. The little pin is definitely sheared off. Based on the diagram, it looks like the upper valve portion didn’t come out. Tried popping the lever up and down a couple times. Am I...

When to replace thermostat and water pump

It has to be a reman pump from 20 years ago. It’s literally still silver on the inside. No rust at all. Bearings seem perfect too. Hate to spend $200-250 for something of possibly less quality. Thinking I’ll roll the dice on it.

When to replace thermostat and water pump

Getting ready to put a new radiator in my Farmall 706D (D282) due to a severely damaged core. While I have everything torn apart I was planning to replace the water pump which raises the question. With the questionable quality of replacement parts today, would you replace parts that don’t...

Any Reason to Plumb Hydraulics as Double Acting

Thanks for that! Definitely lots cheaper than all the local places I called. I ordered 3 hoses for the price of one locally!

Any Reason to Plumb Hydraulics as Double Acting

Thats what I was thinking. Hydraulic hoses have gotten pretty expensive!

Any Reason to Plumb Hydraulics as Double Acting

Just pulled a IH disk and a Harrogator out of a fence row this weekend. All the hydraulic hoses are pretty poor. Is there any reason to plumb these as double acting with two hoses or am I fine just venting the rod size and running a single hose?

    Exhaust manifold exhaust pipe threads

Did that this spring on my 706. Used the cheapest 2 npt tap I could find on Amazon. Worked just fine.

    Cylinder Wall Scoring

Appreciate the advice Vet. Sounds like $200 and only a week turn around to bore it out. Rest of the hard parts are ~$800. Machine work is probably money well spent in the long run

    Cylinder Wall Scoring

Oversized pistons are available and I have to buy new pistons anyways Im thinking the cracked piston was the biggest issue with compression. But looking for some BTDT opinions.

    Cylinder Wall Scoring

How critical is a little bit of cylinder wall scoring? I have a little 2 cylinder Mitsubishi diesel that I got non-running. After some tinkering, it ran fairly well but was terribly hard to start and had awful blow-by. Tested compression and cylinder 2 had acceptable pressure, cylinder 1 was...

    Flipping Tractors for Profit?

I agree with all the previous comments. Its very hard to buy cheap tractors that dont require more parts than they are worth. If considering flipping equipment, the money to be had is in small farm implements, especially tailored for horse people and people with 5 acres.

    Farmall 560 Diesel

I bought some of the DieselRX glow plugs this spring for my D282 706. Less than 10sec on the glowplugs and she fires right off in less than a full rotation. 5500hrs and starts awesome! Do you have a glowplug meter on the tractor and does it peg the meter when holding the button?
