    Farmall 826 Diesel Fuel Issues

I tried signing up but the website has some security issue going on. I came across a post that I believe you made about correcting the pump timing. If I understand it correctly, if my pump is 180* out I can adjust it without actually removing the pump from the tractor and just remove the 3 bolts...

    Farmall 826 Diesel Fuel Issues

I know it’s not a good picture but the number in the bottom corner is 6. Is that the correct spot? I know it calls for it to be in the bottom corner but I’m unsure if there’s a specific spot in the bottom corner. That is at 12* before TDC.

    Farmall 826 Diesel Fuel Issues

The previous owner said when he first put the pump back in he had it 180 out. Then he had someone help him put it back in correctly(supposedly). But I will check the timing of the drive gear.

    Farmall 826 Diesel Fuel Issues

I set the engine to TDC as indicated on the crank pulley. Then tuned it until the mark inside the pump lined up with the pointer.

    Farmall 826 Diesel Fuel Issues

I I just replaced both inner and outer air filters. The old ones weren’t terrible but needed to be replaced. The engine has about 3856 hrs. My next plan is to correct the timing and get the injectors looked at. Thanks

    Farmall 826 Diesel Fuel Issues

I have a Farmall 826 with the D358 engine. I took the side cover off of the Bosch CR injection pump and the timing is set at 12 degrees before TDC. I believe that the book calls for 14 degrees before TDC static timing. The injection pump was rebuilt by a reputable repair shop a bout 3 years ago...

    Farmall 826 Injection Pump Timing

Yeah I follow his channel. Convenient that he made that video right around the time I’m having trouble with mine lol.

    Farmall 826 Injection Pump Timing

I bought a farmall 826 a few months ago. The previous owner had the injection pump rebuilt a few years ago by a reputable repair shop. It is a pain to get started. It needs a shot of starting fluid but next to none will get it going. Then i need to nurse it with the overfuel cable for a while...

    Farmall 826 Hard starting

I believe that had the D-282 engine. My grandpa had a 560 with the D-282 and said it could be 65-70 degrees and still need the use of glow plugs otherwise forget starting it.

    Farmall 826 Hard starting

Right. I only start it if I have to. Like I plan on moving it to a different building so I can work on it.

I plan on installing one soon.

    Farmall 826 Hard starting

I only had it for about a month or so. I’m in the Midwest so it’s colder right now. I started it one day somewhere around 45 degrees. I understand that it may need it because of the cold but I’m still concerned. It doesn’t seem to put out as much smoke as other diesel tractors when cranking it...

    Farmall 826 Hard starting

I recently bought a farmall 826 tractor. It starts hard, to the point where it will only start with starting fluid. When I use it I give it the smallest amount possible and it takes right off. It smokes and wet stacks. Could the injection pump timing be off? The previous owner removed it a few...

    WD40 As starting fluid

Has anyone ever used WD40 as starting fluid in a diesel engine? I heard of people doing it and they said it works. Are there any negative effects? What is the long term effect?

    Farmall 826 Coolant heater

I have a farmal 826 diesel tractor. I would like to install some sort of coolant heater for those cold days. I like block heaters that are in most other tractors but there are no ports for one in my engine. I was looking at recirculating heaters that plumb from a plug behind the fuel filters to...
