Thank you both for the detailed explanations.

    Super C Lights

I ordered lights for my 1953 Super C from what I thought was a good vendor. The lights are different. I will try to describe. The shape of the back of one of the lights is a gradual arc that merges with the lens bezel on the back side. The backside has "Guide" stamped in the metal. The other has...

    Farmall Super C Maybe

If I may, I would like to expand my original question. I looked at the piston tops with a borescope. I think the 113 and the 123 originally had flat top pistons. These pistons have a raised section about one inch wide running from to back. My eyes may be deceiving me; it could be a lowered...

    52 A Changed Starting Procedure

Heretofor, my A has started like most I know of on a cold start. That is, 1/4 throttle with full choke and spin until the first pop. Push in choke and hit starter and it will immediately start. That is the formula for my 520 also. As of late, it will only start with no choke and full throttle...

    Ball Valve for Gasoline Shut-Off

I have seen some JD tractors with a ball valve shut-off for gasoline. Are there some ball valves that are specific for gasoline. The specifications I have read mention air, water, and oil. If you can suggest a source, I would appreciate it. Thanks

    Ball Valve for Gasoline Shut-Off

Like so many others, I have given up on shut-off valves for Ford tractors. I have tried them from different sources and repaired old ones. My question: Is there a specific ball valve for gasoline? The descriptions mention oil, water, and fuel. Thanks

    Farmall Super C Maybe

I thought that would be the case. I know it is a C113 by the block number. Thanks for the explanation.

    Farmall Super C Maybe

Would there be any identifying marks on the pistons that would indicate whether the sleeves are 123 that you could see with a scope?

    Farmall Super C Maybe

Thanks Jim. Yes the serial number is 167000 +. Thank you. That is like mine.

    Farmall Super C Maybe

I just bought what I thought was a Super C. It seems to be a solid tractor. It has the Super C characteristics: Curved pedals, water pump, disc brakes, temperature gauge on the touch control. The date codes are "Y" 53 except for the engine which is "S" 49. I have read that a water pump could be...

John Deere 15R Flex Wing Rotary Cutter Gear Oil

I was able to drain the oil from the bottom of the gear box and let it drain over night. I refilled the with the correct oil and ran about one hour and it still looks milky. I obviously did not get all of the water out. What do you think about flushing with diesel? Thanks

John Deere 15R Flex Wing Rotary Cutter Gear Oil

Thank you all for your help. I was actually able to get the drain plug out from underneath the deck. The oil was milky white and I let it drain over night. Here is the bad news: After new oil, the correct from John Deere ( 6 quarts, 75$), I ran it for about one hour and the oil looks the same...

John Deere 15R Flex Wing Rotary Cutter Gear Oil

How do you drain the oil from the gear boxes? I have read my manual and it does not explain. One video showed pumping the oil out to the top. The mower was bought new and one of the boxes appears to have water looking through the site glass. I think there are drain plugs on the bottom, but the...

John Deere 4440 drawbar locking pin

Seems like I have been asking a lot of questions recently. I hope they are not too simple or boring like "Why won't my tractor start?" When I was replacing the load control shaft o-rings and seals (it has not leaked thanks to you), I removed the drawbar. After cleaning everything up, I am...
