    Issue with MF 35 backfiring

    Check timing and also make sure you don't have a spark plug wire going to the wrong cylinder. A tractor was given to us, previous owner had two plug wires mixed up on the cap.

    Hello, Can I replace the oil pump on a Z134 Continental engine installed on a MF TO35 gas tractor from underneath by dropping the oil pan or does this require front engine disassembly to replace the oil pump?     Thank you all for your suggestions. We flushed out the system and replaced the oil with 15W40 and that helped a little. Will just keep a close eye on it.

    TO35 timing

    When the tractor was given to us the clutch had broke and the fingers got wedged between the flywheel and engine block scouring the back side where the timing numbers were. The numbers are gone.

    Timing marks are no longer visible through flywheel peephole. How can I set the timing without timing marks. Tractor starts and runs, just want to get the timing right. Someone suggested setting it with a vacuum gauge, but where do I connect to vacuum port on a TO35?

    Well we took the clutch off along with the flywheel. Attached it onto the flywheel off the tractor. Set finger height and pto bolts and tested it with a press. Worked fine on the press.     This is exactly the issue we are having. Clutch disc is installed correctly with the protruding center of disc towards the transmission. Thanks Kip78 we will give that a try.
