    ford 850 starter removal

Lots of sparks when you connect the battery direct indicate a locked starter caused by a wore out flywheel ring gear. Try rocking the tractor in 5th gear. If unsuccessful then disassemble the starter on the tractor and remove it a piece at a time.

    saw on c-list

I saw those on display at the Indiana State Fair in 1952. Have never seen any in the real world.

    7600 stater

Here's my W A G. The fork in the starter got out of adjustment for whatever reason, allowing the gear to hit the end of the starter upon engagement. Repeated blows eventually blew the end off. The fork pivot screw is an eccentric and should be adjusted to prevent this. The shop manual tells how...

    wire orientation

IIRC the distributor cap has the number "1" on top. That should be a good place to start.

    Rear axle

Why would you need to remove the nut to get the brake drum off?

Where does the white go when snow melts?

It goes the same place the black goes when a paved road turns white.

Boring 40 sleeve engine to 90 sleeve

There's a good chance you'll bore though that thin cylinder wall. Years ago if that happened Ford would give you a new block. Doubt if they would do that anymore.

    long 460 information needed

If the engine is trashed I would look for a running engine in a salvage yard. Long 350,360,445,460,510,AC5040, and some Oliver will drop right in.

    Cork screw log splitter

I know two guys that got caught in them. One came out more or less unscathed. The other lost both arms.

    Carb Venturi

All Ford 134 CID motors used the same carb venturi. Shouldn't be too hard to find one.

    Long 360 block heater

It goes in the water pump housing. Can be accessed from the right front.

841 Governor how to test? Parts avail?

Check the throttle linkage. With the engine dead, the governor arm and the throttle shaft must reach wide open at exactly the same time. This is true of nearly all gas engines with mechanical governor.

    long 350

Not real sure what your problem is. But if the control lever is difficult to move it is probably due to corrosion in the control quadrant assembly.

    A 850 you don't see very often

Don't very often see a X00 series with power steering either.
