    Thanks Tx Jim, How do I access the reservoir to check this? I have ordered an operators manual so hopefully it will help with any further questions but I think most things I need to know would only be covered in a shop manual which was $450NZD so will just have to wait until I can afford that one!

This tractor is special to me as it was the tractor I learnt to operate farm machinery on my first job on a dairy farm after leaving school at 17.     Ford 5610 4WD problem

    Hi all, My Ford 5610 has started engaging and disengaging 4wd by itself, noticeable when travelling on the road due to the load whining noise, then randomly it will pop out of 4wd (with an audiable bang) then it will be fine for a while then it will go back into 4wd and then pop out again etc...

    Thanks Rod, much appreciated. I just have one question, for the bits of steel to get into the lift arm hydraulic system would they have first gone through the pump? I thought the pump had a suction filter so this wouldn't happen?
