Good info. Now I know what to google for more info. It's not in bad shape, just need to get it home and go over it. If it's not serviceable, I'll let you know. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Being a Ford disc makes it even better. I looked for a tag/emblem but couldn't find one. All I found was a loaded guinea wasp nest; no stings thank goodness. I was concerned about the angle on the front gangs, looked like it would pull hard. I've got loaded rear tires and...

Anyone know what make this is? 6" width on front gang, 7" width on the back. Grease able bearings. Can pick this up for free! Will a 52 8N pull it? Thanks!

    Copper ribbon in distributor

Thanks for the replies guys! I will take a closer look at the ideas suggested and check websites for purchase of the new ribbon. Was confused by the Master Parts Catalog in that I did not see what appeared to be the copper ribbon. Thanks!

    Copper ribbon in distributor

I put new points in my 52 8N and when I tried to crank it, it would not start. I checked behind myself and could not figure out what the problem was. Then I noticed that the thin copper(?) ribbon inside the distributor (a wire runs from coil to side of distributor to ribbon inside distributor)...

For GB in MT. - carb rebuild

Thanks! If I have problems with this "fix", I'll JB Weld it like we talked about. In the meantime, I am going to keep my eye out for a carburetor to rebuild so I will have one on hand. Take care and thanks again for the help!

For GB in MT. - carb rebuild

Yes, it was the larger bushing, .383 O.D.. PO had enlarged hole/opening for throttle shaft so that it was larger than the .383 O.D..

For GB in MT. - carb rebuild

Gary, you responded to my post on 4/28 about a carb rebuild. If you recall the "hole" for the throttle shaft had been modified and required a throttle shaft bushing (which was too small as I had suspected). You and I talked on the phone and decided to JB Weld the bushing in place since the...

    carb rebuild

Have been working on my first carb rebuild, TSX 241B, when I can and I think I am down to one problem now that I am not sure what to do about it. The throttle shaft bushing that was on my carb before rebuilding looks like it was a couple of brass bushing, one inside the other (actually looks...

    carb throttle shaft bushing

Thanks for the reply. Ordered my carb rebuild kit from nnalert but did not get the bushings. First rebuild and did not realize it would not be in the complete rebuild kit. Checked with NAPA store this morning and they did not sell them seperately. Went ahead and ordered from nnalert today...

    carb throttle shaft bushing

Does NAPA sell a Carb throttle shaft bushing for a 241B? If so, does anyone have the part # by chance? How about the choke shaft bushing?

    Carb Rebuild

I made a screwdriver to fit the first time but the brass jet crumbled. I did not apply heat as I had "soaked" for a day or two with PB Blaster. I think there may be enough of the screwdriver slot left for a screwdriver to grab after I boil it. Thanks for the idea!

    Carb Rebuild

Posted yesterday about "boogering up" my idle jet when I attempted my first carb rebuild. Been worried about how to get the idle jet out without damaging the carb body. I talked with a mechanic friend this evening for his suggestions and he said that since the "ears" (that allow you to remove...

    Carb rebuild

Thanks! Looks like I will leave the main jet in place and try to extract the remains of my idle jet without damaging the carb body.
