    Pole Shed 40x60 strapping advice

Only problem doing 4’ then 8’ for example is that is where the pole is located. I want my joins to be offset from the poles not right on the pole.

    Pole Shed 40x60 strapping advice

Interesting. That would be a good idea. It would also help when settling span for 40’ rafters. Keep the measurement true

    Pole Shed 40x60 strapping advice

4 foot on centre posts. Strapping is going to be every 2 ft on centre up and down. Was told to put 1 screw and 2 nails approx on each 2x6 where it meets up with the pole. Top plate is 2x8 which will be lag bolts 2x on each post. 2x4 strapping for truss. 1 foot of gravel for fill. 🤔

    Pole Shed 40x60 strapping advice

    It’s quite the process. I’ve learned a ton along the way. I’m going to begin strapping the walls with 16’ 2x6. You don’t want your joins in the same spot so I’ve calculated: For 60’ side row 1 = 14’ 16’ 16’ 14’ Row 2 = 6’ 16’ 16’ 16’ 6’ For 40’ side Row 1 = 10’ 16’ 14’ Row 2 = 6’ 12’ 16’ 6’...

Pole shed spacing 4’ or 8’ on centre

Using power poles 6’ deep. Have 40x60x15’ high shed, using 2x6 for strapping. Using 4’ on centre on the corners. So first post second and third 4’ apart at each corner. Along the walls not the gable. Then spacing 8’ along the rest of the walls. Question is is that good or should I go 4’ on...

    Pole shed tips

I’m looking for more info on this idea. The poles taper off towards the top and I’ve been told that we’ll have to use 2x4 to get top edge plumb. Can you give me a better idea what you mean? Do you mean the pole itself won’t be 100% straight but the edge will be?

Pole shed prep site with mf275?

Building a 40x60 pole shed. I need to remove the black dirt about 1 foot to be removed in the high side. Question is do I hire it out to contractor with a skid steer or save the money and do it with my 1978 mf275? I’ve been told my tractor isn’t really meant for that kind of job, so that’s why...

    Pole shed tips

I’m looking at renting a zoom boom so I can basically assemble the trusses and strapping and tin on the ground. Then use the zoom boom to lift it all in place. Wondering if anyone has done it this way and if it’s the way to go or not.

    Pole shed tips

I’m using power poles. 4’ on centre. Looked into using 2x4 but it’s only $400 difference to go with 2x6. So I’ll use 2x6 for strapping. I’ll slope the area for runoff away from the shed. Going to sink the poles 6’ deep and just use gravel. It’s an exciting project so it’s interesting to hear...

    Pole shed tips

Interesting comments. Thanks for the ideas. I’m also looking into renting a crane. Sone have suggested to do the truss tin and strapping on the ground then lift with a crane. Also going to use bobcat to remove black soil and slope it properly. I’ll put crushed rock in and let it settle with the...

    Pole shed tips

I’m building 40x60x12 high pole shed. Wondering a few things. For strapping on the walls I got quoted 2x6x16’ wall strapping. Will 2x4’s work for wall strapping or stick with the 2x6? Also looking for how you set your poles. Just tamp with gravel or mix in some concrete?
