    53 Super H

That tractor came from a dealer less than 5 miles from my house. I used to go to that dealer with my Grandfather for parts for his 300 Utility and new cub cadets. Dealer closed their doors in the late 70's. If I remember that also sold Surge milking equipment. Still lots of farms in the area...

    Gasket question

I vote for the grease. That is all I used when I did a complete rebuild of my A trans/diff. Not a single leak , easy to use and alway available. This was what all the old-timers used.

    Farmall h engine troubles

I had the same problem with a carb I rebuilt on my H. Had to take it apart a second time to clean out a piece of debris in the main jet passage. Ran like a champ afterward. Pull the carb and check all the passages again, especially the main jet. Something is plugged somewhere in there.

    300 Utility

Just spotted a running 300 Utility on CL for $1100, runs but needs tune up, rear tires look real good. My question is, how difficult is it to find parts for these? I've done an A and an H with no problem finding parts but if I recall these were only made for one year. My grandpa had one and I...

Problem removing belt pto on H

I don't feel quite so bad, both bolts were hidden behind wire clamps. I guess I didn't pay any attention to the bolts, thinking they only held the clamps in place. That's mystery and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the help guys.

Problem removing belt pto on H

You realize, if it's something that simple, I'm really going to feel stupid. Even more so than usual. I'm pretty sure I missed those, I'll check tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

Problem removing belt pto on H

I'll have to check tomorrow, maybe I did remove 6. I assume they are all on top, none hidden anywhere? As I said the rear moves a little but the front is TIGHT! And yes, it is the belt PTO, thanks for your reply,

Problem removing belt pto on H

Have removed all 4 bolts on top of belt PTO and while the rear seems to move a little I can"t even drive a putty knife between the PTO flange and the transmission cover in the front. Is there something I am missing?

Only runs when I choke it

You"re right, I meant to say the shutter shaft packing and I agree, it wouldn"t make any difference. One thing I did not replace because I could not locate an existing part was the ball bearing included in the kit. I read the directions several times but could not figure out how or where it was...

Only runs when I choke it

Thanks for the tip, I"ll try that before I remove the manifold.

Only runs when I choke it

Thanks for the reply. I think I replaced everything with the exception of the throttle shaft packing because the kit did not include the metal packing cap and I was afraid I would wreck the old one getting it out. I did tap down the existing cap to tighten the packing on the throttle shaft but...

Only runs when I choke it

Recently rebuilt the carb on my farmall H including new fuel line and see thru filter. Tractor starts and runs but only if choke is 3/4 closed. Carb seems to be getting plenty of gas(based on see thru filter and removing main adjusting screw, gas poured out of bottom of carb). When I hit the...

    Copper plated oil pan?

Recently removed the paint from the oil pan of my 194? Farmall H. Am I seeing things or was the outside of the oil pan coated with a thin coating of copper? Sure looks like a shiny copper penny! Any one else every see this?

    Plows for Farmall A

What size plows and by what manufacturer would be proper for a 1947 Farmall A. Honestly don"t know much about plows, any help would be appreciated.

    Bearings and Seals

I need to purchase bearings and seals for everything from the transmission out thru the final drive to the wheels. Is it worth the trouble to try the local auto parts store before I go to the Case dealer? Local auto parts would seem cheaper, I just don"t know how standard the sizes are. I am...
