    I understood a #214 was the commercial (heavy duty) version of the 14T twine baler. Maybe I'm wrong on that -it's happened once before! LOL.

    14t pickup

    Check that the pickup teeth aren't dragging on the ground and that they're not worn down too much. These old girls are fifty years old but they seem to go on forever with a little tlc.

    The #55 is self-propelled, the #65 is the pull type version. Either way I'll try digging it out first.

    Sounds like a great idea to me! Trouble is it's a long way to any hill around here that will put gravity to work for me. I guess it's down to the sharp knife and pliers thing.

    Plugged my cylinder/concave with a tough/damp wad of clover last nite (key word! LOL ). :~( The concave adjuster is seized and won't move. It might take a person on both ends of the shaft that protrudes thru the body - I can't do anything with it on my own. Long bar thru the cylinder shaft...

    14t hay ramp

    I've never seen one but as the manual states its for use in lite windrows. I always rake enough hay together to make a heavy swath which my 14T seems to like. You can vary your ground in order to keep the feeding rate more or less even. HTH.

    Rite, I've been thinking that's the way to go. Meanwhile, the JD guy knew the problem. I changed the plugs and away she went - you could have fooled me! I was thinking points or condenser.

    Thanks for your suggestions. I tried them all and then some but it still barely runs. :~( I just learned for a JD man that it could just be fouled spark plugs - he said that's a common trouble. Any comments? I'm on my way to get some new plugs and we'll see what happens. I'll post here later...

    I just posted on the Implement Alley thread on this site the woes I'm having with my usually trusty #55. I'm stumped why it was running fine then up and refused to start once I brought it back from the field. My best guess is bad fuel since everything else seems to check out but replacing it...
