    I use rubber plumbing test caps from Home Depot. There are all kinds of diameters and they come with a hose clamp. I don't use the clamps on mine, they fit snug. About $3.

    The 81/20/22 boxes are the same with the exception of the input worm shaft. They are different lengths. All of the rest is the same.We did the swap on my buddies 44 special. Used the best parts from both to make one nice one. Good Luck.

    See about sleeves and pistons for a 44 special. They were a 277 in the gas and lp models, they stayed 260 in diesel. Good luck.

    I have a propane turbo tractor, and blowing through a propane carb is fine. They are sealed much better than a gas updraft carb.     You could have a bad u-joint on your driveshaft. you could have them replaced and have it balanced. You cold pull it from the clutch housing side and use it for leverage to check for play with your input shaft theory. Good luck.
