    Continental F162 F163 compression ratios

I can tell you from my experience that there are two different heads depending on the distributor used. This also relates to the distributor driveshaft. The holes in the head are different sizes. I built an F162 for my Model 20. I got it out of a forklift and later came to find that it was...

    44 special camshaft

I don't know of suppliers. Is this gas or diesel? The diesel 44 special has the same engine as the 44. In gas models, I believe only the bore was increased to raise displacement to 277. I don't think the cam specs changed. If that's the case, you may be able to use a cam from the 260 engine of a...

    Governor

That slot is to adjust the gear mesh between the governor gear and the timing gear it runs off. Since gear wear would be different, I wouldn't fully trust the micrometer method. I don't know the specifics for setting the mesh. I would push it up tight and then back it off a c-hair before...

    EXHAUST COVERS

I use rubber plumbing test caps from Home Depot. There are all kinds of diameters and they come with a hose clamp. I don't use the clamps on mine, they fit snug. About $3.

    44 Special-Need Help

The 81/20/22 boxes are the same with the exception of the input worm shaft. They are different lengths. All of the rest is the same.We did the swap on my buddies 44 special. Used the best parts from both to make one nice one. Good Luck.

    dennys carbshop wont help me

If you use pertronix with a coil with less than 2 ohms resistance, you will burn it up. Did it with the .5 ohm flamethrower coil. Also, I would recommend checking out Pertronix's industrial catalog. You can get a complete distributor from them for just a few bucks more than the price of the...

    massey 44 puller

See about sleeves and pistons for a 44 special. They were a 277 in the gas and lp models, they stayed 260 in diesel. Good luck.

    Case LP turbo

I have a propane turbo tractor, and blowing through a propane carb is fine. They are sealed much better than a gas updraft carb. A stock LP set up is regulated around 14 PSI, and therefore a mild boost set up is around those numbers anyways. Blowing through a gas carb has issues with balancing...

    massey harris 22/ drive line

You could have a bad u-joint on your driveshaft. you could have them replaced and have it balanced. You cold pull it from the clutch housing side and use it for leverage to check for play with your input shaft theory. Good luck.

    Deadmans throttle

I built mine. I got a high quality boat thottle cable at a marine store. They had all of the clamps, a ball joint mount for the carb, and a clevis pinned fork for the throttle lever end. both ends of the cable are threaded (lots of adjustability). The cable is stainless and the sheath has seals...

    PUTTING A 350 IN AN M

Put a chev 350 in a Massey Harris 44 or 55. The clutch housing is divorced from the transmission, so the combinations are endless. The 44 has a bolted coupler and the 55 has a chain coupler. I have built one of each with great success. the RC 44 has a loger frame and wheel base, and you can even...

Massey Harris 44 Special differences ???

The 44 special diesel still ran the 260 motor. Cast front wheel centers was another difference.

Help me make a puller out of my massey 30

I ve got a model 20 with the F162. It's bored 30 over, bigger valves, balanced, T3 turbo, external wastegate, running on propane. It will free rev to 4500 rpm and pulls between 3600-3800 rpm at 10 psi of boost. Balancing will be the key to safe high rpms. The clutch parts should be blanketed...

    Massey 55

My friend has a stock 55 std. wheatland gas. It is mainly stock. It has had the carb gone trhough, K&N clamp on air filter, pertronix in the distributor, and a couple of unnecessary parts removed to make #7000. He is usually in top 3 if not #1 in our stock antique class. If ours is a good runner...

    turbo on gas

Oh yeah, the oil return line works with gravity, so it will have to run down hill without any uphill sections. Its always a good idea to let your turbo motor idle for a couple of minutes before shutting it down. It will allow the turbo to cool down, and be less likely to cook the oil.
