    What year is Case 222

Get this, I saw the tractor for sale then he told me had it on craigs list. When I asked him how much he wanted he told me 850.00 but would take 600.00, I was sort of fearing for my life because the area that it was in was how you say "unsavory" so I said... I'll call you when I come back to...

Hey Brian, problem is, the rack and gear are stuck in the wide open position, so when I start the truck it screams. thats why I took them out. i'm tryin to get them apart at the rack but the bushing is real stuck. If I can get the rack to close I will stick them back in the truck and do that...

    Case 442 update

I took the hydraulic pump from my 69 442 to Livingston -Haven today and they tested it for me...no good. I probably could have taken it apart and seen the wear and metal shavings. The tech was surprised to hear that we run 15 40 in these instead of hyd fluid. Why do we run this ? Ed

    Case 442 minimal movement

Tom, took the pump off today and the lovejoy was running metal to worn metal with a worn and broken spider doing nothing. The inside of the pump (looking in the ports) looked surprisingly clean and appeared to be meshing fine. Now that I've got the pump off do you think I can take it somewhere...

    Case 442 minimal movement

I just started my recently put back together 1969 442, let it run for a minute or two then moved the lever forward and back to find it only moves slightly, I can hold the tractor from moving at all when engaging the lever. Everything seems to be working fine on the directional valve, I have 4...

Case 442 clutch/ fan mount nut

I am restoring an early 442 (I think a 69) I started it up yesterday for the first time in 15 years. The fan came loose. If I tighten the fan up all the way the "collar" nut tightens the clutch to the point that there would be no disingaging the pto. question is....should I be using a lock nut...
