Dumb question about 8n front distributor gaskets

It seemed Kid did not say if he ever got the clips to snap on to distributer cap or not. If he got the same gasket I did then it would be impossible to do that because new cork gasket is way too thick even if he got it in the groove. I was not asking a question just trying to help out Kid. Maybe...

Dumb question about 8n front distributor gaskets

I just got a gasket from amazon, stevens was the seller. It was too wide to fit the groove. Pretty thick also. So I found an o-ring that fit in the groove. Had to cut it because it was too big diameter (circumference) but left the split at the bottom of cap. The cap has a hole at the bottom so...

    8N fuel shutoff

Hey everybody, I have a 46 8N and the fuel shutoff screw is worn down where the packing contacts it. Thousands of off/on cycles have worn it down a little. The problem is if I ever twist it out to the reserve position, the screw gets hard to turn (because it is surrounded by the packing nut) and...

T 340 Crawler Hydraulic Seals Needed

I think drift can also be caused by the check valve in the control valve. Lift your blade up and remove the non pressure side hose and see if the packing is bypassing.

It was for twelve volts and it was so weak it was next to worthless. took it apart and it only had two field coils. and two blank, empty coils. My advice, rebuild yours...

    IH 340 steering planetary

sven, I turned mine on a lath and the way I remember they smoothed out good enough. I don't think you can get them out without the final drives off though. They say the shoes are not availible any more but can be relined by a shop.

    stuck clutch

it"s happened to me a few times. seems if it sits in a dry barn it doesn"t happen. so many many years ago I drilled a hole in the bellhousing so I could stick a screwdriver in and pry the clutch plate off the flywheel. it does not take but just a touch to break it loose even though you have been...

    long bar on small chainsaw

i sure wish someone knew of a small good saw that i could buy that had a 20-24" bar on it. i am cutting acres of small brush and it would be so much easier not having to bend over with a big saw cutting at ground level. stil says a long bar will not fit on their small saws. a previous post by...

    fuel bowl gasket

Does anyone have way to keep fuel bowl from leaking? Those cheap replacement gaskets made from cork only last a year if i am lucky. Original gasket on it was rubber, but it cracked after many years. I was thinking of mayby finding a fat oring, mayby that would work. Or mayby someone knows where...
