AC 175 Diesel - Oil lube

When removing alternator from the AC175 the bracket that held the alternator to engine had two bolts. The bottom bolt was slotted seemingly for adjustment. It appears it allows flow for engine oil lubrication to timing gears? Is this correct? When I had failed to replace it due to misalignment...

Not getting all warning lights working on display (The right column which is supposed to light up when the thresher is engaged and not having engine at full speed) is not coming on. Had tech out but he hasn't found problem. Don't know if it is bad connecting, cable or display board. This is...

    6610s injection pump timing

Anyone out there have a book listing the static pump timing for a 6610s? This has a Lucas DPS pump with timing lock bolt. Am down to the final stages of removal, all that's left is popping the gear off the shaft and removing the three pump mounting bolts. I'm quite sure the engine is properly...

    Posts about teachers and education

One of the biggest problems I see about public schools is the homelife a lot of these kids have. A high school principle told me that every year his wife who is a grade school teachers has students who either one or both parents are in jail. I think the breaddown of family life is a contributer...

JD 9500 cyl for auger flighting

Has any of you had to replace the cylinder (leaking) that tightens the belt to run the unloading auger flighting. Went to Deere and they said it could not be repaired but wanted $500 for a new one. So I took it to a machinist who took welding apart and repaired. It seemed ridiculous that Deere...

Way to keep mice out of pole barn

Was never able to keep cats around barn to ward off mice, so I dumped the cat's litter box around outside perimeter of barn. No mice. While the cat litter may stink outside the barn, it is not as bad as the stink and damage that mice create.

Why did Sears do that ?

After reading some posts it appears Sears still does make that screwdriver but the two Sears Stores I went to did not have that in a set or individually. The one Store did carry that in the past.I have noticed that the one store does not carry a particular item on a consistent basis though.

    Today's gasoline

This past week I had both a carb on a 4020 and a carb on a Deere riding mower get clogged due to dirty gas.Neither engine would run until the carbs were cleaned. Whats the deal with dirty gas? The mower's source is Marathon and the 4020 is Countymark. Deere did the mower and I did the 4020. The...

Why did Sears do that ?

I was looking to replace a Craftsman stubby screwdriver that had a wide blade and regular size handle. This was very useful when working on any 4020 gas carb. Luckliy I still have one. But this type of screwdriver is almost non-existant in most common hardware stores. I do not know why Sears...

    N.Dakota Oil

Think about who these low oil prices are hurting the most: Russia, Venezuala, and Iran. The U.S. and Saudis do not like the government of these countries. Could there be a conspiracy?

How do you no-till in corn stalks for beans?

I use an AC 333 planter to no-till, but I have to do something to knock the stalks down. The new genetics on stalks makes them touugher. I have used a cultipacker with a harrow. And I have chopped stalks which is probably the best way. How you plant thru stalks will vary with the type of planter...

    Transistor on AC 7040 electrical

Have narrowed a trans temp light to be either a loose wire to warning light or a transister. The manual does not show location of transister. I would think it would be behind instrament panel. Is this correct?
